Aside from all the valid complains i just want to say something positive and why until i keep playing.

I have shock 405.5 hours played and i dont use the browser addon for the shop or login to check shop only. I do try to min-max but i’m not obessed with it.
I have been online while searching tips or forums, but if i’d guess and sum it up it’s max 10h while ingame and beeing afk searching the WWW for tips, explanations of mechanics and alike - and then checking the shop intermediately XD
I have played all classes beyound level 30 and started with Zealot, played with him for 2 weeks, then went to Ogryn, played to 30 and another week and went to the next one. I did this with all classes, so i have played at least a week or so when the class was max level. Then i came back to Zealot and play Zealot for the last 2-3 weeks or so.
My absolute favorite class, because of the Lore and immersion, the voicelines, the purge factor, the Flamer, the Eviscerator and lately the Thunderhammer.
I have tried and played Axes, Knives, Heavy and Catachan Swords, Revolver, Kantrael XII, Braced Autoguns (Graia and Aggrippina) and what not but i came back to Eviscerator all the time, because of that iconic WH40k touch and feel, the sheer fun to saw heretics into pieces and well i think i dont need to tell you. I’m an Eviscerator fan since i saw one on a Model in the 90ies.
But then lately i saw people using the Thunderhammer on Damnation and although i already tried it i thought i’ll give it another try, because i have to admit seeing hounds, muties and other Ogryns oneshotted in a short clip seemed to be fun and very viable. Sure not on Damnation all the time, but anyway.
While i have lots of fun using a Revolver or a braced Autogun i mostly play Flamer and when playing Damnation i think its the best option i have. First for the iconic and immersive touch to WH40k and second for its strenghts against mixed Hordes!
I have no complains for the Eviscerator. I can deal with the - how you call it stunlock? - when using the activated special sawing through something big. I even use that to move around an enemy while sawing and it can help to position you to your advantage when you have killed the first Ogryn for example.
But back to Thunderhammer. I read a lot say it doesnt perform well and i see the issue with a loaded Hammer not hitting the Elite or Specialist, but a Poxwalker and wasting your kill potential of the activated special, but man is this weapon fun and best used against Muties, Bullwarks, Reapers and even Ragers and Maulers what most teams struggle to kill asap.
With a hammer you mostly can do in 2 seconds. Activate, Chastise, DEAD!
Not allways on Damnation, but when they had some damage already from ranged fire or are stunned by surge staff, have some burn on them you kill them pretty quick with it.
Idk if the request of many Hammerwielders to have the activated hammer not stop at first target wouldnt be too op. I mean i see the issue, but its maybe a skill issue i also have for myself.
I think timing the hammer needs some time getting used to and i sometimes still time the activaded blow wrong, but when i do it right it atm is more satisfying than using the Eviscerator.

These iconic weapons and the sheer fun using them keep me playing!
FS Developers did a fantastic job in this regards.
And of course also other classes and weapons are done well.
I hope they come up with some significant changes to some out of mission mechanics and i hope the game wont die too early, because of the many flaws it has beside that.
Oh and all this said, i didnt like L4D back in the days and although i played a bit of VT1 it could never get me in like Darktide can.
And that is because i’m just a 40k and not that much a fantasy fan.
The immersive 40k world and the weaponry is what keeps me playing.
