I dont hold out hope that this will actually get the attention of the devs, but here goes.
The thunderhammers need work. Period. Between the animation cancel getting “fixed”, and having strait up incongruous attack pattern, or the charge up animations being punishingly slow some serious adjuatments are needed. Seriously people should be complaining that they are too good, not the other way round’.
I would argue that Bolters are the “flagship weapon” of 40k but I agree T hammers need llve and they are still pretty iconic. You’ll probably get a better chance of people reading this in the gameplay discussion section however.
so your solution to the hammer behaving like ass is to just use a different weapon instead of trying to provide any valid feedback or critique. Way to start off on the low ground
It is currently one of the worst performing weapons available to Zealot. It has a fierce competition with devil’s claw and new hammer for the last place.
Unfortunatelly thats only true up to Malice diff.
Above that eviscerator loses to swords and axes hard.
People tried to make it work, but it needs 25%+ boost on all numbers like all chain weapons
Honestly only melee activation special weapons that work are
Power swords and force swords - esp the cleaving one which is just a power sword
Chain weapons should work the same, you activate it and for x seconds it has bonus dmg and auto bleed
It needs to be better, that was the iconic zealot preacher weapon and it feels kind of middling now. I’d probably up the damage scaling to flak armor and carapace to fit with the loreful penetration of the weapon.
Its kind of meh in its current state, despite being my favorite weapon.
Adding another eviscerator with different animations, mixing up the heavy and lights would also be a huge improvement.
Evicerator sadly does have pretty bottom tier horde clear when you look at its actually cleave damage distribution. That absolutely should be rectified, it’s a damn greatsword. It is pretty legit single target though. I don’t think it’s a bad weapon by any means, most things lose out when compared to Antax Caxe.
Chainsword seems very solid to me. Not outstanding but basically fine. I enjoy it on both Zealot and Psyker.
Chaxe is… I have a post I really need to make at some point about that one. I’ve been using it a fair bit in the past month or two. It’s pretty good with the god blessings (slaughterer + thrust). Lights being nowhere near rewarding enough for their risk is my biggest issue with it. Revved heavies have great one shot potential, and it feels safer to use to me than T Hammer now the cancel is fixed. Defending Chaxe isn’t the hill I want to die on particularly but it’s not far off being a very valid choice after the various buffs it’s already gotten IMO.
Not a fan of changes that buff by simplifying gameplay TBH. Power sword is painfully boring to use, I’d rather see don’t have other weapons converge towards it. Illisi at least only gets one swing per charge that kinda keeps it in check.
Just to clarify for the one dipsh it who thinks its about the animation cancel bug. I dont even use thunderhammers i use evicerator. Im relaying the complaints of my friends who do. And to clarify i didnt even KNOW there was a bug with animation cancel until this patch like alot of other people because i never used thammers because ive always thought they were mediocre.
Good job not addressing the core issue.
I remember dudes arguing on this forum with a straight face that Psyker wasnt underperforming, and in fact they were TOO good. This is that same lazy mentality on display.
People can use the Thunder Hammer effectively? That’s awesome. I’ve had games where I do pretty good with the Thunder Hammer. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be buffed or fixed. Tons of people are enjoying the new psyker buffs, and while maybe it needs a bit more fine tuning it helped a lot more people enjoy Psyker. Hope we eventually get a similar situation with the T Hammers.
The fact that the iconic weapons for zealot are just objectively worse than at least 3 of their mundanes is a sad state of affairs considering that iconic weapons are a large selling point for each class. I was really hoping the Evis would be darktide’s version of the Xsword from VT2, and that the hammers would be basically 1 to 1, but they are just awful
