Kinda have a bad feeling about that… But hey, next Tuesday we’ll all be “enlightened”
I think the Lady forgot her Grail there with Kruber? Does it now just lie around somehere in the undergrowth? I would’ve expected for it to disappear right when Kruber regained his composure after drinking, was the perfect cut for it and it would’ve underlined his surprised demeanor, as if nothing happened… ![]()
Am i overthinking this?
Also:
I was kind of right, wasn’t I? Just singular attack though.
Watching the stream and the Vows the GK gets, does this make him a mandatory choice if he guarantees buffs for the whole party for the rest of the mission?
Your P2W is showing.
+10% power for slaying elites? +10% damage reduction for finding the tomes? Why leave this guy out?
Note that he have no mobility skill whatsoever and no ranged weapon. So 10% power (IF YOU DO THE QUEST so possibly at the very end of the map) is not that much for such a drawback.
10% power for everyone in the party. The stream mentioned it was party-wide buffs for the rest of the level.
As you say there will be some elements of luck, like getting no monster, or a monster at the first trigger, but party-wide buffs are just too good to pick another Kruber. When I start getting kicked as Krubs for playing FK, or told to swap I’ll be annoyed.
Aye, and even his activated ability is just a very strong melee attack.
In veteran. We don’t really know if it one shot a CW in cata ![]()
I think you’re overestimating a bit the effects of such a buff
People who kick you for bringing another class are fools.
Foot knights can provide a damage reduction buff and their activated ability can stagger bosses and halt hordes to a full stop.
Huntsman can kill anything in seconds, and mercenary can resuscitate fallen players or save a failing group with THP.
Of course they are, but look at Battle Wizard when she was stupid OP. People either dropped when thy saw her or asked you to change. OP BW was just a complete game-wrecker for many, many players. IF GK is a means of significantly improving the run, people will want it.
A single buff might not make too much difference, but by the time you arrive at the cannon in the Fort if you have +10% power, +10% CDR and +10% DR then I’m likely to hear “GRIIIIMNIIIIR” every ten seconds, or everyone’s favourite “Fly FREEEEEEEEEE!”-mancer back in the game. Also it’s likely to make it much easier to deal with the end waves of Screeching Dress-wearing Arseh0les. A single buff might not swing the run one way or the other - four buffs probably will.
Wasn’t it three buff max ?
The thing is, for all missions “take tomes” or “take grim”, it won’t happen before a good chunk of map is already done (and it won’t happen at all in weaves or fortunes of war).
This is a passive effect, so it’s good to have, but it’s not really mandatory. Especially if you attain the full duties by the end of the map only.
What is 10% power when you can actually make several threats disappear in mere seconds instead ?
From the stream we have :
+10% Power (Slay elites)
+5% attack speed (Slay specials)
+10% cdr (Slay a monster)
+10% DR (Tome)
Health regen (Grim)
Thoses 3 :
+10% Power (Slay elites)
+5% attack speed (Slay specials)
+10% cdr (Slay a monster)
Are the only one that can arguably be done very fast in latter difficulties.
Rest is losing time, and taking risks (grims and tomes being, usually, not really at the beginning except on skittergate for grims)
Well, I don’t know the in-depth numbers enough to have concrete facts about weapon buffs, but if I’m playing RV and by the end event of the map I could be one-shot body-shotting things with a Xbow instead of 2 shotting, I’m going to want GK along. It’s just how people’s brains work, and as the end events are the most often reason I get a wipe in QP, it’s the end a lot of people are worried about.
GK’s buffs might become mandatory for a smoother ending on Enchanter’s Lair for example, especially with the buff to CDR for a Shade or a BH coupled with extra power. It explains a bit why Nurgloth has been left how he is - to give GK a time to shine.
Time will tell though, maybe the buff’s won’t make a difference - and that opens up another problem of “Why have them as a mechanic then?”
Still haven’t had a chance to watch the stream. Is it a certain amount of conditions to complete a quest for a party buff? Were they temporary or only active while carrying books?
Questing passive actually sort of makes sense with all the lore stuff being dumped about how doing quests is a big part of Brett knighthood, but I’m also worried about P2W.
It looked like carrying ALL tomes got the buff for finding tomes, killing a monster obviously only needs one, I couldn’t figure out how many elites or specials were required for the buff, but on higher difficulties it could be won quite quickly - although specials for a melee class are tough to get I suppose.
[edit] @Froh You’re right, it looks like 3 buffs max in stream.
One condition. One buff.
3 random “duties” each game. Each with a reward for the whole group.
Actually we don’t know what happens if you lose book right after.
Thing is, I was a bit afraid when I saw the ult being blocked by an armor (with the armor sign :p). I do think it could be on the low side of the spectrum power wise. But we’ll see.
I also don’t really like tomes & grims being a conditions for some duties, as it eliminate some duties automatically when doing weaves & challenging maps.
(and also it forces you to get tomes or grims when you don’t want it)
not CDR, cooldown regen, so it recharges 10% faster (the tooltip tipped me off and if you watch his cooldown bar after an ult, it’s not 10% CDR), which scales bad, for reference adrenaline surge is +100% cooldown regen rate. 110% cooldown regen rate with GK buff on slayer shows how it scales badly with more of it. Compare doubleshot with its 80%CDR on landing headshots add 10% more CDR from trinket and it is equal to 100% cooldown regen rate.
Ah damn it !
Dno as much as i like the sound of these buffs in paper we also have to consider that mercenary arguably gives the same level of power or even better for the whole party.(for the whole duration of the mission) Not to mention by just looking at the stream for a little bit the grail knight really seems to be on the low end when it comes to power while mercenary most definitely ain’t AND you don’t have ranged restrictions either.
Like i said i don’t know really it sounds powerful but as Froh stated its not nearly as good when you think about it.
Yes, a big thank you!
Can we have back the wigglermancer too?
“Wigglermancer”?
