So few weapon color schemes feels like a weird lack of polish

Bolt Pistol, Pickaxe, Double Barrel Shotgun, and Shock Maul still don’t have the red and blue skins every other weapon does. Come to think of it, neither does the Ogryn’s Shovel, how long has it been since that thing was added.

That’s kind of weird? Does anyone else feel like that’s weird? The current list of weapon cosmetics from the commissary feels like what you’d expect from a Beta. The Unlocked and Loaded update seemed like it would’ve been a good time to upgrade this a bit.

Two skins for each weapon type is already anemic, even if customization isn’t a very high priority. I think for starters, every weapon should have a red and blue skin for every one of its marks. Additionally, the base look for each mark should be available as a skin too, so you can make your Mk 1 look like a Mk 5 instead if you want. That would massively expand our options without even needing to model anything new, just some new textures. And then after that maybe we could get some other new basic color versions, like forest green or desert yellow. Maybe orange? White? Purple, dare we dream?

Like I’m not asking for a Dawn of War 1 Army Painter level of options here (though that would be awesome of course).

The Grenade Gauntlet as well. The Commissary’s covered in cobwebs right now, actually… where are those Moebian 6th green/red reskins?

Although, if I can be completely honest, I prefer the Level 20 Mastery cosmetics for my weapons over the Commissary ones.

They miss also the premium colors that were sold by packs a long time ago (yellow, green, white etc)
They do not propose such packs anymore (just an other limitation to the customization) but at the price we have paid, they could add the new weapons to these packs.

I’m still kicking myself for not buying those premium packs earlier. I think it was $10 and you got a skin for every weapon in the game at the time. Imagine that now!

It bothers me that the skins only exist for ONE mark and as the OP said the weapons added since launch don’t even have them. Totally unpolished feeling.

One nice thing about the weapon customization mod is that it lets you apply the weapon texture separate from the model changes. Which is a huge improvement that FS should implement.

Agreed. I like the model of a mark that wasn’t recolored for a skin, and the moveset of another mark, I’ll never see the one I like :frowning:

Tbh, in what I posted, 2 points are for me a must.

Level 2 : a color we can apply to the model
Level 4 : accessories (scope, light etc)

I would not be upset that they would forbid us to choose the weapon model if they would link it to the variant we use. If I can recolor it, I would be happy.
In fact, I dislike that the model change when we apply a weapon cosmetic.
But I don’t think it could happen, as they started to sell cosmetics that change and the model, and the color, and can add various detail.

To be fair the weapon customization mod takes a giant dump on everything Fatshark has delivered so far. The difference in quality that can be achieved with it in a few minutes is insane compared to the low effort recolors we’re getting.

  • like for this thread because this has been bugging me too, even if most regard this as a minor issue. But on the other hand it should be easily fixable.
  1. As mentioned, several weapons still don’t have not even the red and blue color schemes available.
  2. If you apply a color, the weapon looks like a different mark, like a red antax turning onto an achlys. Doesn’t the game just apply a different texture to the weapon model?
    Sure you can change the mark now with a click, but it’s weird.
  3. Still only red and blue? I don’t request elaborate textures which will be sold for aquilas I guess, just some plain colors.
  4. Again, look at SM2 and let us recolor the premium skins we bought, or at least put patches onto them.
