Slow Response from Fatshark Servers - Unable to play game for 3 weeks

Issue Description (Required):

Hello team,

My friend bought the game on PlayStation 5 three weeks ago (December 16th) and has been unable to log into the game for most of the three weeks since. He was able to play (created a character and played a few games) the first night on December 16 (around 7 P.M. WITA); however was unable to log back in the next day. The error message “The response from the FatShark servers seems to be slow; gameplay may be affected. Please check your internet connection.” kept displaying. He waited around 20 minutes and was still unable to log in (screenshot below). Other games have no issue with internet connection during this time. He tried logging in to Darktide again around 2 A.M. WITA on the 7th of January and was able to log in to the character select screen; however, it was late, and he closed the game. The day after, the same slow server response error message displayed, and he hasn’t been able to play the game since.

Hope to hear back soon.

Good luck. Devs dont care. See the megathread on backend errors that they have not addressed for at least a week.

I would try doing some speed tests. Omn the console, other devices, etc. Try wired connections straight to the router.

Darktide servers are hosted in AWS (I believe). You can see how well you connect to them.

Make sure you don’t have other things on your network devices downloading large files taking up QoS priority.

How do I check my connection to AWS servers?

Every other multiplayer games work fine, so I doubt it is weak connection speed. Unfortunately, it is not possible to do a wired connection because the router is in a different room.

Yeah, I mean you can temporarily have a long 100ft cable just for testing. I actually in my apartment has mine in the corner near the carpet and floor boards. Taped it over door ways and such. You can use it.

But if you’re confident in connection, I don’t know where you are on the planet. You would have to see which AWS regions and AZs are closest to you probably.

Firstly, I’d recommend experimenting by connecting the console to a mobile hotspot (if possible) and seeing whether the issue persists, as this can help to isolate the issue.
