Issue Description (Required):
Every PS5 player I’ve spoken to or interacted with has a story similar to mine – there is horrible lag, rubber banding, and constant disconnects for PlayStation 5.
For me, if I attempt to play during 6am to 1pm CST, the ‘response from Fatshark servers seems to be slow’ error message displays on startup and multiple times during loading and in the Mourningstar. The game lags horribly and when I load into a game in my own region, I’m often treated to character models sliding around or floating off, hits not registering, and horrendous rubberbanding.
Disconnects are inevitable with 2014, 3013, 2001, 2004, etc. I even disconnect from the Mourningstar. When I reconnect, I may get these error codes again and booted back to the Operative Selection screen. Sometimes when I attempt to connect during matchmaking, I get a 2014 error in the Mourningstar and asked to reconnect to the strike team.
I know it’s not an issue on my side. My upload and download speeds are more than acceptable to play online games without an issue – I have no problems with games like Space Marine 2, Helldivers 2, and Monster Hunter Wilds, even with friends from other regions. But not Darktide.
The thing is, if I play Darktide from 1pm to 5am CST, there is no lag and very, very rarely connection issues even with people in different regions. This leads me to believe that it’s a Fatshark server load problem. Please, please look into this.
The problem has gotten worse over time. When I began playing in December during the PS5 launch, it was a sometimes thing and I didn’t have a problem playing with people in my region. Now it’s an always thing during these hours.
The last thing to report is that when I load up the game during the bad hours, I often get a ‘Backend error: Not connected to PlayStation network’ error when this is definitely not true. A restart of the game solves this but it’s a constant issue now when it wasn’t before.
I have tried everything to solve this issue, including all of the advice for 2014 on this forum posted by a developer. None of it helps or works during the ‘bad hours’.
Hope that this is at least acknowledged and being looked into! Many thanks.
