Slayer Leap (and possible other F abilities)

Sometimes F abilities just don’t go off. Playing as Slayer, it was working fine on Gardens of Moor until the end event. I started mashing F and it was completely unresponsive, then it went off about 10-12 seconds later. Same thing happened on Skittergate earlier today. No idea what causes it. Sometimes it just doesn’t go off at all and I have to just pray that the F key will eventually respond.

Yep, noticed this as well. I’ve found that if you hold the button a bit longer, the aiming reticle will eventually pop up and allow you to ult.

Ya it may be abilities that have leaps / charges.

I’ve noticed this a few times, on slayer and battle wizard. Seemed to happen randomly, ability just wouldn’t work and then a few seconds later I’d try again and it would go.

Remember the system that was implemented to stop people from yeeting themselves off ledges? It removes or “freezes” the reticle if you aim out of the intended playing area. It also introduced many side effects, like not being able to leap over small objects because they “block the way”, and also refusing to deploy your reticle until you look somewhere that it’s okay with.

It also really doesn’t like sharp inclines, forcing you to take a shorter leap because its overly picky

IMO, a mechanic intended to baby-proof maps due to human error is creating conflicts in respect to a core class mechanic. Instead of hand-fixing specific problem spots like how walls are handled, the problem-mechanic in general should be reworked, made less restrictive, or gutted.

Not sure if the same problem, but on battle-wizard if you are elevated like standing on some rock/fence/gate basically anything that takes you of the ground the ability won’t activate. Been there since the beginning.

It’s also been tweaked I think to stop the map-skip problems.

However, having suffered several downs because the Fire Walk refuses to even pop on the spot to give me some room to move I’d rather there were some invisi-walls on the map cheat bits of the relevant maps.
