Been noticing quite a few sniper shots that give no audio queue. Really annoying
Add that to the list of silent hounds, silent bombers, silent trappers, and I’ve even noticed some silent mutants.
Definitely seems to be some audio bugs with sound cues.
I suspect you can also add to this issue the scenario where a sniper shots at someone else and you happen to get hit, but because you were not the actual target you never get the audio que at all. I bet that wasn’t even considered during design. Same as you dodging into nets fired at someone else etc.
Not to downplay the problem, because there definitely is a problem, but personally I’ve never really relied on the sniper sound cues to dodge them. I mean other than if I can’t see the beam because they’re behind me or something. Their aim-time is very predictable and you get a sense for it rather quickly, and also now that I think about it I’m not sure if they ever played that cue at all when you’re looking at them? Not sure tbh, I could very well be wrong. Either way I find myself never relying on any sounds against them.
But the audio cue problems in general… yeah. There’s nothing I hate more about Darktide. But today I got several games where my Void blasts just didn’t travel, like, I was shooting air! And also my first dog in ages if ever that pounced right through a full charge Void blast ignoring it, and catching me. So that’s new at least.
