All characters have dual weapons. Bardin has Dual Axes and Dual Hammers, Kruber has Mace and Sword, Salts has Dual Hammers and Axe and Falchion… All those weapons are strong and fun but Sienna does not have any. Please fix it. I thing that for example Dual Flaming Flails would be just awesome.
I’m fine with some characters not having everything. Being a bright wizard I’m okay with her lack of shields and dual wielding.
It’s the same as how Kerilian can not use gunpowder a or Bardin’s lack of bows and spears.
@GreenColoured Exactly.
I would say there are differences to it.
Dwarf don’t usually use bows and Spears, while Swords are noted those are rare and usually used by Vampire Hunters
And Elf shirk gunpowder weapons in lore.
For Sienna there isn’t really anything in lore stopping the dual weapon kits.
But at the same time if we get more weapon packs I have other weapons that I’d prefer.
Another thing Sienna doesn’t have are 2h Weapons, Axe, and Shielded weapon.
I would love a 2h Flaming Axe
Yeah, that would be very cool (or hot) too!
I would love some kind of Small staff and sword weapon. Many wizards in WHF have a full staff and sword combo, but that might be a bit much and I dont think she should have full ranged capabilities while in melee, so something midway would be cool, like a smite ability or the “force push” thing psykers have.
Its also in-line with what FS has been doing by bringing some things from DT back across to V2.
I am more miffed that Saltzpyre has a dual wield personally, though they did nerf A&F quite significantly to where every Saltzpyre no longer auto equips it. Would be fine as a Zealot weapon, but seeing a distinguished Witch Hunter hacking away with a weapon in each hand hurts my brain. Sienna not having them is fine by me.
It’s moreso in the lore the Wizards always hold a staff in one hand while a hand weapon in the other. Sometimes the medium used is a ceremonial scythe that doubles as a staff.
Warrior mages like lore masters of hoeth tends to be rare minorities and almost never human. In Vermintide it just seems like a technical limitations that she can’t have a scythe and sword at the same time.
Also she already have TWO extremely powerful two-handed weapons. The mace and scythe. As for axe that’s literally what her warpick is…course unlike normal axes her pick has that stupid useless horizontal heavy attack with zero cleave…
In all honesty if Sienna gets anything I rather she get a short one handed spear or fire poker focused on fast non cleaving attacks from range. Or more staff variations, like ones that casts support magic like cloak of flames or blazing sword buffs.
Well not exactly, arts and miniatures portray them with that often cause they are static but want to portray all of their weapons, lorewise spells need somatic, verbal and material (Focus, among which staves, but also ingredients, like for Aqshy keys, coal, oil…) components.
@Heretical_Cactus Probably it depends on RPG or Tabletop.
I play tabletop, and I don’t remember any Wizard with sword.
Maybe 1 with knife.
@Heretical_Cactus But when you play Warhhammer tabletop, the staff doesn’t count as an additional weapon. The wizard only uses the sword.
Yeahhhh I am beinga bit jerky, but it is true.
I thought the official TT rules are, if its on the model, it has the be in the wargear and vice versa. This is how 40k works but maybe not for WHF?
@MunKy In general yes.
The wizard HAS staff and sword.
But uses the staff for magic phase, and sword for Combat phase.
And most wizard miniatures don’t have any weapon, but in hero description they have always some melee “standard” combat weapon (generally sword).
The ones I remember, which are admittedly few and are generally from the old range AND probably still lead based!, had swords or a sickle or something. I was never that in to empire or brettonian etc
Funny how memory works. Maybe I only paid attention to the bright wizards with flaming swords or the jade one with a sickle. I admit I cant really picture other colleges in my head.
Edit: did a search down memory lane:
Duckduckgo search
Many do have a sword or something else, but a large amount do not!
That’s a staff, not a mace.
Honestly double weapons that would make sense on Sienna are the Fire Dagger + itself or a Fire Sword
I dont know why but whenever i picture Sienna dual weilding it is ALWAYS a sword in right hand and a fail in the left. Not sure why.
Currently on a phone so can’t post images, but the Witch King of Angmar (LotR) had a Sword and a Flail
Hmm, that could look hot!
