Should Zealot / Veteran get a Weapon Shield weapon like the Arbites?

Not going to argue in a forum, if you think that, than so be it. Be safe.

Because GW routinely changes canon lore in order to sell product (I like the baddie mommy female Custodes, by the way), holding to existing knowledge with such a strong grip is as when Leandros misinterpreting the Codex Astartes by mindlessly obeying it.

We’re talking about a video game here without the structure of the Militarum or the Astartes, so let people have fun, okay?

You are derailing the thread, have fun with it all. Be safe.

Oh and also I think Relic Power Sword that the Zealot get access are usually Crusader weapons, so there’s that too

Technically, they’re not men-at-arms organised under the Ecclesiarchy due to that whole Age of Apostacy kerfluffle, they just happen to be independent bands of armed militia that are completely separate to the Ecchlesiarchy, yet still is excessively influenced by.

This of course not making them “Not-Zealot”

Yes, you can still be a zealot without being an ordained priest or having an ordained priest as a direct superior.

Okay, let’s get back to the topic:

Yes, I strongly agree that the Zealot should get a Storm/Assault Shield and a Power Sword weapon, similar to the Ogryn/Arbites shields.

faith is my shield, let hatred guide your hand and blind duty be your salvation!

Now that there are going to be Arbites I think the navy breachers work better as a skin for Arbites rather than for vets. Even your image is heavy on shotguns, an Arbites signature weapon.

First thing I would say is to ditch the Veteran from this topic. They don’t need a shield+weapon combo, especially as @Gideon404 pointed out that the Imperial Navy Breacher shield+shotgun combo would be better suited to the upcoming Arbites.

I also agree with @Wahid and others that the Zealot could actually do with a shield+weapon combo for tanking, and I would add my voice to a preference for the Storm Shield so that it is represented in the game somewhere. For the marks, pair it off with three different weapon options for variety and we’ll be off to the races. Hurrah!

Good old Frateris Militia. It is a shame that they disappeared with the Witch Hunter Codex. In their entry in the old 2E Sisters Codex, such militia did have the option to take a primitive shield. Sure, that was over 20 years ago (ye Gads), but it does present the thinking behind such zealous non-military individuals.

ok guys i added another poll to the topic,
but in so doing i accedently broke the old poll,

the new poll is multiple choice so you can select the option you would like.
i know some would like shield options for both zealot and veteran.
however some have expressed that vet be excluded from the topic.

i have taken this into consideration with the new poll which is why its now multiple choice.
please vote again, and thanks for contributing to the topic,
