Issue Description (Required):

After the Hive scun update, error code 2005 started occurring frequently during missions. There are also instances where the audio cuts out before disconnecting.
Particularly in Havoc, error code 2005 appears continuously starting around the middle of the mission.
I had never seen error code 2005 before the Hive scun update.It was the same even after removing the mod.

Attempted Solutions (Optional):

Restart PC
Restart router
Set DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 / 8.8.8.8
Verify game integrity

Darktide Error Code 2005 – What fixed it for me (Summary)

After the latest large update, I started getting frequent Error Code 2005 disconnects.
Mods, DNS changes, and router tweaks did not help.

The root cause in my case was unstable Wi-Fi micro-disconnects.
Darktide seems very sensitive to short network drops (microbursts), especially after recent updates.

What actually fixed it:

  • Switched from Wi-Fi to wired Ethernet (LAN cable)

  • Connected PC directly to my router (not Wi-Fi)

  • Disabled Wi-Fi on the PC to ensure Ethernet was used

Result:

  • Error Code 2005 completely stopped

  • Connection became stable

Notes:

  • DNS changes had no effect

  • Mods on/off made no difference

  • Issue seems related to Darktide’s networking tolerance after updates (AWS / session sensitivity)

If you’re getting 2005 errors, try wired Ethernet first before spending time on other tweaks.
