My inventory had been lagging the last week after updating a mod - I went to discard some stuff and I didn’t even realize - I had over 1000 grey weapons just sitting in my inventory from the days of spam buying greys until you got a good roll. Made 1.4 mill from selling all those and my inventory doesn’t lag anymore!
Also, clearing your Scoreboard history too in your files. I’ve heard this helps as well with performance issues.
We need a magic bottomless chest in mourningstar to dump our clutter weapons away from live inventory.
Maybe it’s a dumb question, but where are those stored?
%appdata%\Fatshark\Darktide\scoreboard_history
Paste it in run/explorer, it then resolves to:
"C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\scoreboard_history"
Thx.
Back around the release of Unlocked & Loaded and the new inventory system, someone made a fantastic suggestion to favorite everything you keep. That’s helped me keep it all organized ever since.
So for anyone interested in easily keeping their inventory clean, I suggest something like this:
- Favorite every single item you want to keep, discard all the rest
- After this, every few missions / days (or when you just bought 20 grays) just go to inv → tap X to discard → check if there’s anything interesting → DONE. 5s and a few clicks for what used to take forever.
- With Weapon Filter mod, pressing Tab in inventory shows specific weapons only: No more sorting & browsing through 50 random weapons trying to find the type you’re looking for (pic below)
- With Red Weapons at Home mod, fully upgraded weapons show in red & are easily spotted
- Finally, use skins for your real favorite weapons, so you can spot them at a glance
- For me everything I’m not using yet is on default skin, my favorites I use the most have my fave skin, the rest for off-builds etc have something else
With all that it’s super fast & simple to keep everything organized while finding what I want in an instant even with dozens+ weapons on me :
This was a fantastic point! Thanks!
Yeah, this is pretty much what I’ve done since the implementation of favoriting. Makes the process SO much easier, especially since it’s not as easy to just delete the weapons you get after every mission anymore.
Also just dump all the weapons I don’t use once I upgrade one I like before doing anything else, so the whites never cluttered up my inventory. Got just a bunch of Oranges at the top, a few greens and blues at the bottom, and just scroll through, find the not favorited ones, and delete unless their stat spread looks interesting.
Yee tell me about it! I remember the days before, when you had to buy weapons 1-by-1, then fiddle with the sorting order to browse through a list of 200 random things to find the stuff you were looking for. Nvm then discarding the weapons one at a time with that annoying 2s delay each time. x.x Seriously can’t blame anyone for just growing tired of it and ignoring the whole thing after 1.5 yrs of that.
Now if I craft something new from Brunt it’s just 1 click with Buy Until Rating to get a dozen → favorite the 0-2 with the dumpstats I want → discard everything else and that’s that. Finally some QoL to what used to be such an exercise in frustration.
I started to write an R script to gather and summarise these files. Got bored, but might revisit it.
The file formats are terrible by the way. It’s almost like json was never invented.
If you finish that, pls share.
I would NEVER forget my past battles, you speak heresy.
everything must be documented.
ogryn keeps stash tidy, sah. got best of each weapon once, what more do i need.
emprah funny man, always sends stuff for sale, ogryn things he like to get rid of this stuff too, so he sends to ogryn.
I suffer from OCD. Really bad like I keep checking 5 times after leaving my car to see if I really locked it
So I’ve always kept like certain 2-3 of same weapons I would actually use, but different blessings/perks to change up. I only keep the weapons I intend to use and sell the rest
If there is a change to a weapon I want to try then it is off to brunt. i.e. I sold all thunderhammers, made one for nurgle event and ran it for a week or so…then after event over sold it.
But we do need some sort of archive storage away from live inventory to keep things clean because without mods to filter or use pg down it is a bit of a doom scroll (scroll bar and tab needs to be larger) . I set all weapons to favourite so I don’t accidently delete, habit from windows “Are you sure you want to delete?”
Thank you so much, I’ve been trying to fix this for about a year I’m pretty sure.
Just deleted 1616 entries since March 2023
What? It was literally the other guy who mentioned it… Thanks, @Brad9191. Didn’t even realize this was even a thing until now.
My golden bricks are part of the foundation of the crafting memorial.
I will neither use, nor sell them.
Interesting… Never really thought of this honestly. I’m guessing it sort of works like clearing your internet browsing history lol.
I knew I needed to clear them, I didn’t know how to get to them.
