1136 hours and counting, not a single case of toxicity due to scoreboard. Also, me and my friends use the mod, we talk about results on discord, never mention it to the 4th rando about it.
Edit: also, sorry for your experiences OP.

Way more than 10 is being mentioned, because apparently the block list only has 10 slots.
So not all of the toxic people (which apparently appear in every single mission) can be blocked.
Scoreboard lets me know how a round went.
You donât need it to see your teammate biting the dirt 30 times
Have never encountered your issue and Iâve never seen anyone mention the scoreboard once.
I play on the Auric pain train if you want to ask.
Now thatâs its 2024 we can disregard the OP and move on.
This isnât exactly related but its pretty amusing that kicking sombody from a lobby doesnât actually stop them from just rejoiningâŚ
i understand why Fatshark not made scoreboard baseline.
Darktide is a game to attract new players to warhammer 40k universe. Altho it does poor job at that.
So discouraging new players from seeing how good Vermintide veterans perform - is not a good idea.
The score should be in the game after⌠well⌠after Fatshark finishes the game. But for now let the casuals to be in their blissful ignorance.
People who do use scoreboard are usually the ones, who playing this game seriously. And they playing Auric Damnations. But usually they not calling out people on bad score unprovoked. If you did something bad - they will tell you, that you did something bad. If you continue to argue with them - they will point out scoreboard.
Iâll give you an example of me, being âthat guyâ. it was maelstorm auric damnation, monstrosities, speicalist waves, all the good stuff. I was on ogryn with kickback, the other ogryn had rumbler, psyker irrelevant and main boi - zealot with agripina revolver.
So me and other ogryn were dealing with most of high priority targets. Snipers, trappers, flamers, hounds were on me. Crushers, reapers, bulwarks and weakened monstrosities were killed by other ogryn (rumbler with adhesive blessing does wonders).
While our zealot was running around, doing zealot stuff.
Both ogryns were low on ammo, i was on orange, he was red. I saw a big ammo pack and pinged it for other ogryn to take. Swoops in zealot and takes it.
Iâm like âok, maybe he had low ammo and i missed itâ. Found another and pinged it again. Even typed âOgryn, take ammo hereâ. He was busy dealing with horde.
Zealot swoops in again and takes the pack, he was white ammo.
iâm like âok, maybe he shoots a lot of specialistsâ. Moving to next room i see him unload his revolver into pack of poxwalkers IN MELEE range.
This is where i pointed him out, that he shouldnt pick ammo and leave it to us if he shoots poxwalkers. Guy responded with âehm, akshually, i kill a lot of specialists and you dont. God, i wish there was scoreboard like in VT2 so you could see how good i amâ.
To which i reply âi do have a scoreboard mod and you nowhere near as good as you think. Stop stealing ammo from usâ.
So on one hand players should understand if they perform bad. On the other hand we shouldnt discourage new players from playing the game. So maybe make scoreboard only on Auric missions?
Toxic people are toxic. More news at 11.
The scoreboard is fine. If someone is being toxic just report and move on. And honestly if someone is being an ass he doesnt need a scoreboard to do it. The problem is with the people, not what they use to cause problems.
The solution is easy: push back the Chicago Way.
If you see some typical crapper bragging about âI DiD thE MosT DmGâ point out one or more of the following true statements that applies to them:
P.S. To OPâs point, these selfish jerk empty-drum teammates are not THAT uncommon, if you havenât run into them, be thankful. If you want to see more of them ask them to leave you some ammo and mention they donât need big sacks to fill up the 2 missing revolver rounds.
Ah yes, another âi had a single bad interaction in the game, so iâll go and complain about it on the forumsâ thread.
- they took the most dmg
- wasted all theheals
- they had a great team babysitting them
- they wasted all the ammo
- they mindlessy rushed ahead leave a mess for other to clean up
- all that âmost dmgâ came from farming chaff, in conjunction with ^
- the rest of the team killed more higher threat targets
etc.
Had no objectives done.
Zero resources gathered.
Never dropped the medpack.
Lowest disablers killed/lowest damage done to specials
Most captured.
installed scoreboard literally changed my style play alot better than before, if you are lacking or slow or behind, try to move faster and aim better and fight better and be more awareness nonstop too, thats why ppl lookin at your scoreboard how awful player you are, so fix it and play better next time, and stop smoking weeds, or drink beers or some shet
Silent trapper grabs me in a crowd through stairs, fully invisible and impossible to react against, get me insta-killed.
Team calls me a shitty noob.
Scoreboard tells me I got the most of both elites, specials and disablers killed by a lot, killed the most generics, did the most damage to boss, took the less damage, used less bullets, gathered the most resources, have the best coherency.
IDK, I like Scoreboard. Tells me the facts instead of the feelings.
i swear these days i sometimes feel like john spartan from demolition man, fresh out of the ice.
in a game about killing stuff and staying on your feet, those under performing AND running their mouths get a reality check based on facts and come whining about it ?
has the level of backbone in the last 20 years degraded so much that instead of sucking it up and grow from mistakes, dudes stomp their feet like little girls in complete disregard of how they fâed up ?
see, back in the day you were polite and thanked others for their âinputâ if it had any value for your progress as a player, mainly because you werent âhidingâ that far behind the other dudes monitor on a lan party.
online play wasnt a thing and chances were good that if the little ankle snapper ran his mouth juuust a little to much âsomethingâ thrice his size rose from behind the other screen and THAT was the painful lesson.
happened only once in my time, but boy was the message received and the guy burned for the whole area.
least he left with his rig intact.
fast forward to today and factual numbers âhurtâ people? pathetic.
you fâ up, you suck it up and you grow from it.
i use my scoreboard to check if my game is at its best, more often than not it is.
doesnt have to mean i top every category but kept everyone on his feet or dusted him off AND killed enough stuff to allow everyone to move on.
people suck at the game?
happens
controller users perform at 1/3 of everyone elses level?
shocker
but dudes sucking abysmally AND run their mouths?
you bet i tattoo those numbers on their foreheads next chance i get.
simple as.
+1 to your post
People who arenât as good at the game (nothing wrong with that) might play lower difficulties if they saw they got carried hard.
The number of enemies/objectives/plasteel/etc is the same for everyone, but only one player is credited for the kill/pickup/damage. They call that ârivalrousâ in game theory, I think.
So for your game to be at its best, someone else must be at its worst.
So if all you care about is score, then you turn what was originally a co-op game into a competition.
That, I believe, is the âtoxicityâ argument.
installed scoreboard literally changed my style play alot better than before, if you are lacking or slow or behind, try to move faster and aim better and fight better and be more awareness nonstop too
i use the scoreboard just for some days and i have to say that what you said above sounds too eager and a little bit sweaty
The way i play has not changed, but after some days i have even turned it off, because it stress me to play for numbers.
And imho that isnt good to play for high ranks. It takes the fun away.
I then made a new build and activated the mod again to see what is the different maybe. I did same mission twice with same condtions, but ok team was random so itâs not 100% comparable, but i just did what i allways do, my best to get the mission done and make the team win as a team.
I could see some difference ins damage, but tbh. i dont know if it was because i had the opportunity to kill more horde or elites or monstrosity for example.
I got less ressources than in the other, but thats random. I used same amount of Heals, but needed less ammoâŚ
What i want to say, it provides maybe some info for someone comapring builds, new gear etc.
But if people start playing for higher ranks and numbers only, it starts to harm more than it does good.
And i think there are some people who play mor for their numbers than for the team.
People that rush or people that go for extra kills and damage play maybe more risky.
Maybe the awarness is good, but the decisions what to attack, where to react are corrupted by the endresult on the scoreboard.
example i have just experienced: a Psyker who could have easily helped a downed team mate decided to do more damage before he rezzâd, it was absolutely not neccessary to attack more enemies. It was before an elevator, mate was down, but main threat was succesfully fought. I was more away he was just in front of him and he decided to go for some more kills and not rezz but let others do so, while he got some more kills and damage.
I cannot say he used the scoreboard. But since i know what a scoreboard does and how it affected also me, iâm pretty sure my scores first, teammate later, because there was no threat around. BUT!!!
when the other teammate started to rezz the downed mate suddenly a netter apeared and netted him, luckily i was around to save both, the other one was busy getting kills and probably higher scores.
Maybe anecdotal, nothing really bad or serious problem, but a trend maybe that a scoreboard may cause.
thats why ppl lookin at your scoreboard how awful player you are, so fix it and play better next time, and stop smoking weeds, or drink beers or some shet
thatâs not how it works if you want others to improve, just to say.
mocking, assuming bad habits etc. is really inapropriate and rather cause resistance than improvement.
I like Scoreboard. Tells me the facts instead of the feelings.
itâs true, i also use it for that from time to time, but i turn it off if i have my build and loadout set for some days and not change anything, i just dont need to know exactly what i do in numbers or my personal performance.
Team needs to survive and win the mission, everything else is not important or like said above maybe even counterproductive.
If you try to figure out things, if you test or compare builds, loadouts etc. itâS helpfull to some degree.
The number of enemies/objectives/plasteel/etc is the same for everyone, but only one player is credited for the kill/pickup/damage. They call that ârivalrousâ in game theory, I think.
and maybe the scoreboard also inflicts rivalry among teammates, imho counterproductive for teamplay?!?
So if all you care about is score, then you turn what was originally a co-op game into a competition.
ia gree somehow, itâs also what i experience more often lately or at least the existence of the scorboard and using it for some days opens the mind fur such ideas.
I got 658 hours in this game and Iâve never heard anyone bring up the scoreboard. In fact, the two worst interactions Iâve had was one guy who was being a shithead because he didnât like me calling out specials or trying to get people to notice what was going on while using my mic and another one who oddly didnât like the fact that I was marking specials that downed me. But Iâve NEVER run into anyone complaining about scoreboard stats. That being said if you are playing terrible then you will be called out for sure. Especially if you are constantly running ahead and getting downed, hording medipaks during critical moments, or starting events when people are not ready or lagging behind, etc.
i still want a scoreboard lol people are free to mute chat/mics whenever they want, but i want the ability to see what my stats are.
Literally never once seen this happen. Not in voice not in chat. My friend and I sometimes like to review the scoreboard at the end for stuff like boss damage which can be hard to tell in game when everyone is laying in to them at once. Never once commented on scores to other players and again never seen anyone else do so either. Iâm sure it happens here and there but a non issue overall and the data scoreboard presents can be nice to have for assessing the effectiveness of your own build at different things.
Would suck to see it go over some sour grapes.
while the scoreboard does nothing but make bad players actively play worse, itâs not what makes the community toxic. the community does that itself, these people are like animals.
