Samey Spawns vs. "Strike Teams"

The game describes specialists/elite spawns as “strike teams,” yet what I’m instead seeing is homogenous groups of several of the exact same enemy (depending on difficulty) being spammed by the AI director. Instead of blobs of 8 shotgunners or 10 ragers or 20 gunners or 10 crushers/bulwarks/reapers, how about we mix it up a little? Let’s have proper squads or balanced strike teams instead of blobs of the same enemy getting spawned in.

Instead of a simplistic “spawn 4-12 [elite enemy]” how about y’all come up with some interesting enemy squad presets instead. For example a light infantry squad might be 5-8 shooters, a gunner or two, and some kind of sergeant. A heavy squad might have more gunners, and an assault squad might have more shotgunners and melee combatants.

This sameyness isn’t terribly noticeable at lower difficulties, but on damnation it very much is. Blobs of a dozen shotgunners or gunners or reapers or what have you. They simply aren’t interesting to deal with, just tiresome.
