Runs slow on i5-12400F / RX 7600 XT (16GB) - is it expected?

Issue Description (Required):

I have i5-12400F / RX 7600 XT (16GB) under Windows 10. The game seems to produce around 50-60fps during a mission on medium settings on this hardware, sometimes dropping to 30-40 fps even. Even if I enable AMD FSR, it still shows something about 100-110fps, which further drops to 60-70 at times.

Ain’t it way too slow, for this game? I think my system exceeds recommended specs for it significantly. I’m reading a lot of feedbacks here about games not working properly on AMD GPUs lately - could somebody give me a summary, and what are the workarounds for those issues, if any?

Will falling back to some older driver version help may be? To which exactly then? Thanks

Ran the same for me when I had the RX 7600, the game is not very optimized. I advise you to read the main AMD tweaks thread and apply those. It helped me, not suddenly running the game at max, but far more stable.

Thanks, I’ll check it. Did you also observe FPS fluctuating wildly, or is it DT’s issue, not AMD’s? I thought FPS should stay fairly stable within the same location, but even on the station I see it’s being anywhere between 50 and 100 for me. It’s funny actually, like it’s normally 80-90, but if I turn my camera angle in such way there will be another player standing in front of it close enough, it suddenly drops to 50. But if I come close to the mision terminal and point my camera so that it will take most of the screen, fps jumps over 100.

I did notice that, I would argue the hub is probably not going to be too consistent. I often noticed performance impact when others loaded in, off-screen to me. I do not think this is specifically an AMD issue, just that Fatshark seems to have focused more on Nvidia since they have so much of the marketshare.

Most of the other games I played had dips at time, but consistent ones, according to higher activity or screen. It made sense. Darktide just constantly felt like I was playing some defective servitor bot lol.

Do check the fixes, but I advise leaving settings as they are. From what I recall, while it wasn’t perfect as I said, it was quite playable. You could also look into ways of using FSR4 on the 7000 series, but I am not sure if it conflicts with the game’s anti-cheat. From what I read it gives less of a performance boost than FSR3, but it looks far better.
