24.8.1

Issue Description (Required):

The new drivers works very similar to 24.7.1 maybe a little bit worse and i don’t think it was because of shader cashe loading. There is still mayor stuttering in various instances and my 1% and 0.1% lows are as allways on 1 or 2 fps.

Attempted Solutions (Optional):

Everything

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

[PC] PC Specifications (Optional):

I5 10400F
RX 6700 XT
16 GB ram 2666 mhz (single channel)
BIOS, windows and every driver to his last update, while nothing running in the background.

My friend, your CPU is the limit here. Trust me, I know. I ran Darktide on a 10100F and RX 6600 for a while, and more recent patches made the game’s CPU utilization go through the roof! I updated the CPU to an 11700KF and it is running so much better now (same GPU).

Single channel RAM is a big limit as well.

I know, but change the cpu+motherboard+ram it’s a little to expensive to me right now, and apart from that i’ve seen some players running better/top gear than me and they still suffer from stutters.

I can understand that. Just providing the context why you probably won’t see much performance improvement from GPU driver updates, since the GPU is not the limiting factor.

Try this out and see if it helps you: Anti-Stutter - High CPU and Disk Priority - Darktide at Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nexus - Mods and community

Nothing is wrong with your computer dude, don’t let these ‘‘helpful people’’ gaslight you into spending money.

If you’re reading this thinking your PC is the issue, it isn’t. Its a DARKTIDE ISSUE with AMD GPUs. Don’t WASTE your money.

Not sure if it helps. But I have fixed my stuttering issues on my AMD GPU with some config file edits - I fixed stutter and textures not loading in! (Texutre streaming config file change)

Follow that guide and you should get rid of all your stutters and only be left with slight FPS drops. Also please be sure to DISABLE AMD SAM, as this game just doesn’t like it at all.

Was just about to post this amazing thread (thank you).

It fixed stuttering for me (using Nvidia and intel ) and some other people. Or certainly helped a helluva lot.

Give it a go! Takes a minute. Rename original file so you have the backup before trying changes.
