Amd 26.2.2

Issue Type (Required):

Performance

Issue Description (Required):

Hello there!

I just installed the latest AMD driver and Darktide is nearly unplayable.
The issues:

  • Huge FPS drop from stable 160 to 56.
  • Stuttering and micro freezes.

Before that I used the 25.9.1 version and I had zero issues with Darktide.
Yes I can roll back to the old version, but the other games I play I had a huge perforce boost from this driver update.

Somebody have any ideas how to tweak the settings in AMD side or in game side?
Or I have to wait for an other stable AMD driver or for some Fatshark magic?

Did you install adrenalne software? If yes, try to delete it and install driver alone, without adrenaline.

After playing with the in game settings and the AMD Adrenaline software.

Even if I lover the graphics quality the effects are minimal.
Maybe a little bit of fps gain but the game still freezes and stutter.

If I turn everything off in the AMD Adrenaline the game runs a bit more stable, but if a Mutant or Hound jumps in the game freezes and even if I dodge I got pinned down.

So the best thing I can do is wait for an other stable and compatible driver from amd or Fatshark do something with the AMD issues which looks like are common with the game.

Which is sad because I love this game even after 1800+ playtime.

have fun w8ting we have bin w8ting for years now even fatshark is ignoring the problems for 2+ years now

the only way to make it playable is to use linux…

Wonderful.
Even Capcom was capable fixing the optimization issues with Wilds.

wel here we are even the fatshark stop talking or asking questions about it a long time @FatsharkJulia can we pls get an update on this or not?

people have also pointed out its related to using an X3D CPU but thats wrong testing an RX 7900XT and RX 9070 XT on a none X3D CPU and an intel CPU problem still the same

you can trying tweaking ini’s that some people have posted here on the forums (they dont work i can that you that right now) the stutters wont stop it wil stay the same

if i want to play this game i need to reboot to my linux install to play it thats the only way i was able to get rid of the stutter some others have also confirmed it now….. this feel like elden ring all over again game is stuttering on windows but wen you played in linux all the problems go away

is it a windows problem? i dont think it is

is it an AMD driver problem? maybe there is good chance it is but it can also just be fatshark its 50/50 here

who can fix it? fatshark and AMD both of them

it also paints a really bad picture that fatshark made a demo client for darktide using FSR redstone yet its still not in the game it self…

at this point im thinking fatshark has fixed the problem but is doing what it has done with vermintide 2 fix problem in a brench of the game code but not merging the fix’s on the public brench build for the game…

looking at the FSR Redstone video it does kinda point to that….

in the end i dont know

if you want to play using an AMD gpu pick a linux distro and play using that is it dum yes but there is nothing we can do as users

at this point im thinking fatshark has fixed the problem but is doing what it has done with vermintide 2 fix problem in a brench of the game code but not merging the fix’s on the public brench build for the game…

Oh so false advertising at it’s most blatant? Awesome.

I, and by looking at the general feedback there, a good amount of other people, can attest that the .ini changes desribed in that thread do work. If applied correctly, and crucially, reapplied after every patch.

I agree there should be a definitive solution from the side of the developers, but it’s not like there aren’t proven ways to combat the problem if you are willing to put in some of your own time. (Which I am not saying is a good situation to be in, but it is what it is.)

this is a good way to destory rep of a devs team amazing
