I had what I would describe as a “suspicious engagement” with a BoN in a previous mission where it took far too long for the beast to die based on how much damage I was doing to it. I did some testing and I managed to find a bug with rumbler damage. Compare the two screenshots.
The grenade explosion does 2300 damage, which you can see in the screenshot.
However on this second shot you can see that the grenade explosion does no damage and only the impact damage of 217 is applied, the healthbar also accurately reflects the missing damage.
Further details:
- This seems to happen at random when grenades are stuck to the BoN, I don’t have a non-sticky rumbler I can test so it may be that only sticky grenades have this issue.
- The chance of dealing no damage seems to be roughly 15% based on my testing. The chance is higher if the grenade is stuck to the face/shoulders of the beast.
- The most likely area that I found to deal no damage is the back of the shoulder, the point I’m aiming at in the screenshots. Hitting the weakspot also has a noticeably higher chance.
- The rumbler I’m using has Shattering Impact 4 and Adhesive blessings.
