The idea of blessings is to give us ways of changing up our play style by swapping blessings.
Weapons now have a certain number of blessings slots and now you load in blessings till you got no more space.
So a weapon could have 0/8
Then you load up two T4 blessings and it’s 8/8
Or you load up a T3+T3+T2
Or T2+T2+T2+T2
The other way you could do it is 0/100
You remove all blessing tiers and then you make strong blessings cost very high numbers and weak ones cost very low numbers.
So you want the best blessing on Combat axe 5 that’s weak point kills give unlimited cleave it will cost you 60 points but if you want some less effective perks that give slight utility you can add like 2 on.
Or you got like 7 weaker utility based blessings on one gun.
Then just add a bunch of cool blessings that can effect how weapons play and give them different costs.
Please dear god no more reworks. At this point no way a mediocre system can do more harm than no system at all. I just want this damn blessing crafting available already.
I don’t know… if they implement the lock then that’s as good as having nothing. I’ll just continue to level toons and if crafting is in the proposed state I will probably just leave the game. It depends a bit on what my friends who currently play the game end up doing.
I understand why people don’t like the lock but that is a WILDLY untrue statement. The difference between having to find a weapon with one blessing you like vs both is night and day in terms of probability of acquiring. I can do some number crunching to show that fact if you don’t believe me but I’d hope it’s pretty self evident.
There’s a threshold where not getting a carrot makes one lose interest in the carrot and everything attached to the carrot. And I bet you though it may not be the primary reason, it’s one that’s affected a significant amount of the people who stopped playing.
That has literally no bearing on the comparison I made. Well actually it exemplifies it better. The difference between finding one vs two blessings you like is even more astronomically large if you’re exclusively looking for T4 blessings. Like you realise that just biases the odds even more in favour of the comparison I was making right?
Also T4 blessings vary from nice bonus to completely irrelevant depending on the case. Very rare having higher than T2 bromentum makes any difference over T2. Slaughterer and Thrust probably the strongest example of T4 actually mattering but even then the difference between T3 and 4 is really just icing on the cake.
Anyway I clearly wasn’t actually trying to argue the new system is good. Just pointing out that saying having one blessing locked is the same as having no control at all is laughably inaccurate. That was really my main point. Nobody is arguing getting even one T4 blessing you want is easy.
That’s a completely fair opinion to hold. Personally I’m of the opinion that we’ve been waiting months largely because they keep redesigning it over and over and we would have been better to have had it already and then lobby for changes from there. Redesigning the whole thing again could honestly mean at least an extra month of waiting. I’m not down for that but perfectly respectable if you are.
