Eh ok fair enough i can’t speak for ammo conservation
For me balance > Lore
I am ok with some hand waving. Like the bolt gun being a reduced bolter just for the imperial guard. Or coming up with whatever exposition you want. “The revolver actually uses Tungsten tipped rounds with warp infused powder that has it teleport pieces of the target to the warp on impact”. I don’t really care. As long as each weapon has a style and situation for it with some pros and cons that makes it unable to be good everywhere and bad everywhere.
You know zealot has a great reload talent as well.
- Locke Pattern - The Locke Pattern Bolter is a variant of an older pattern of bolter used by the Adeptus Arbites, and is now the most common pattern of bolter in use in the Koronus Expanse. Like the bolter patterns used by the Orders Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, the Locke Pattern Bolter can be used without difficulty by normal-sized Humans.
Bolters ARE a normal thing in the imperial guard. But this one is for the Arbites.
the only reason the revolver seems powerful is because of hand canon. If they nerf or rework hand canon, then they also need to revisit crucian roulette (that blessing is only 80% functional) and give it 2x the ammo reserve.
I made the suggestion of moving hand canon over to the plas rifle, because if anything the plas fits that theme, and it’s already a pita to use that weapon so I think it would be already balanced with it.
I realized that I was not quoting the right guy for such sentence.
My apologies… that’s why I deleted this part immediately.
Its all good, I figured you meant Reggie but I thought I would comment anyways
Won’t comment first part… said already what I think about this.
But plasma has already such bonus with shattering impact.
shattering impact doesnt give much impact really. The only time it makes a decent difference is in monstrosities. I haven’t noticed any meaningful difference it gives in moment-to-moment gameplay to say it makes or breaks it like hand canon does.
This was exactly what we have on revolver before the buff of hand canon…
Since patch 13 all Brittleness stacking works with 2.5% and not 5%. So while it had some impact prior it basically has been shadow nerfed, and tooltips haven’t been updated.
I use revolvers on my Zealot builds. Pretty much all my Zealot builds.
I can use the heaviest melee weapon and still be zippy with it, and with “Point Blank”, I can get close to 50% crit chance. Significantly more if I run Blazing Piety.
That’s reasonably good enough, it’s quick to draw, it one-taps all specials but Mutants, oneshots non-Ogryn Elites, usually kills Ogryns with 2 or 3 shots (sometimes I miss a weakspot in a hectic situation), I can get great damage in on a Beast of Nurgle, and it has both superb range and good ammo economy. It’s pretty much BiS.
Just love the people in here trying to not so subtly get another vet nerf on the table. What is your deal?
I dont like how the columnus mk V gets 100% crit rate on psyker. We should nerf all of psyker. /s
Revolver with reload talents is stronger than non reload talent so you nerf that and suddenly the lasgun, shotgun, autogun, hh, plasma, bolter, shredder (lol) vets also get nerfed.
Wrong avenue of discussion. Revolver blessings, and % v. armor modifiers are where focus should remain because that is the most precise or dare I say “surgical” (hehe) way of fixing whatever problem perceived or otherwise is causing all this ruckus without creating collateral damage.
We’re basically already there though. Fat shark isn’t doing small tuning changes to weapons. They’re buffing/nerfing items into meta or oblivion it feels like. Flame thrower went from top tier to trash in their nerfs and shows no signs of returning to being a valid option…
What blessings? Ive tried all 3 shotguns, tried to make them serviceable and… idk. I tried lawbringer flechette/scattershot. I tried fullbore/fire frenzy, everything feels bad on the shotties, to me.
So you’ve never used their best blessing, no wonder they feel bad to you. No respite is basically mandatory and gives you reliable two shots on the vast majority of priority targets. Full bore is the best secondary blessing. Kant fire shot has dummy high stagger and can stop an approaching Ragers group in their tracks as well as infinitely pierce crushers/bulwarks shields, which is very helpful utility at times.
Oh sorry, yeah ive got a few with full bore + no respite as well. I tried a lot. I’ll DM you a few when i can get online.
No respite being mandatory is precisely why I say shotguns need a buff. If something is mostly just bad without one specific blessing, it needs to have something done to it. And tou have to admit, the lawbringer defiantly needs some love due to it bringing literally nothing to the table the other two don’t already do, I’m thinking explosive rounds.
I mean it’s a really really strong blessing and lots of good weapons have “mandatory” blessings so no, I think it very clearly says nothing at all about the viability of the weapon.
that fully overcharged plasma shots don’t explode like a mini-plasma shell is disgusting
Yes but the shotguns are not good weapons without it, the fire one is a great utility but otherwise struggles without it. The slug shotgun slugs are ok but otherwise the weapon is mid-tier the lawbringer is just not good at all without no respite, borderline unusable due to the ammo capacity if you don’t have that blessing to meet breakpoints.
Shotguns need a buff, not to damage necessarily, just to functionality. Using special ammo being a toggle instead of a single shell reload would be nice. And like I said, the lawbringer needs something besides a useless wide shot pattern as the special ammo, the other two outperform it in every way and that is not a good state for any weapon to be in (yes, that does include the other weapons that nobody uses because another version of the gun is better in every way).
