Reverting a difficulty increase without any player feedback

This is literally a non-issue. Difficulties exist for a reason, if you can’t function at that difficulty, play a lower one. I don’t understand the argument here. This is the same as “I play double A baseball but I think I deserve to play in the pros”. Goes to the pros “This is way too hard, this needs to be brought down to my level so I can play properly” same energy.

I don’t agree that catering to the average player is a bad idea. You want to retain average Sam that pops on to play once or twice a week.

That said, I’m not an average player and I’ve felt starved of challenge for a long time now. I hope we get new mountains to conquer soon.

Sure, and it was tweaked and became easier. I feel players can feel that they deserve to complete the highest difficulty, especially if it comes with rewards. I’m not saying stuff should be easy, but I feel it just shifts the problem to a new tier and doesn’t actually solve the problem, if that makes sense.

I realize I’m a bit beyond the target of Tide games at this point, but I think moving the goalpost isn’t the answer here.

I agree, I’m just pointing out we’ve seen this in the past before and that was the resolution.

Im not need goodies. Challenge itself is good enough for me.

Oh, shooters stop players from mindlessly rushing melee into every situation, we can’t have that!

Seriously they reverted the best overall balance change they had since they made dodging/pushing dogs consistent.

Funny enough the shooter changes made zealot fun again for me. Meleeing gunners is fun now. Or was rather. Meh.

LOL, no nore fun. Every time this game just became a little interesting, they took it away.

Personally I want two things most:

  1. A really challenging mode with various enemy types, not just specialists waves.

2.Rebalancing range fight/range enemies/range weapons/vet talent tree. I want some proper gun fight.

What do you mean? Ya still play Vermintide, don’tcha ya?

I know right? My best memories playing melee engage on Zealot was something like 3-5 patches after release when shooters were still super dangerous and required skill or a stun nade’ to mop them up.

After patch 13 it was just too boring.

Yep… the level 31s (true level mod) who only jump on after major updates

I feel you. Patch 13 introduced a massive powercreep that sucked the fun out of the game. The only thing left to do was grind materials to craft god rolls but we all now how quickly that sucks out the fun of you.

It’s a shame we live in a time where everyone just wants everything to cater to their level instead of trying to overcome a challenge.

Melee ranged enemies is always easy for zealot. If you think it’s hard, that’s because you use a wrong build or you act bad. I finished a true solo ranged main malestrom right after the ranged enemy buff days ago, it’s actually pretty easy.

I’m just going off what Fatshark has previously said about the player population. Aside from that, none of the people I ever played this game with (from different gaming groups located a thousand miles apart) routinely played Auric Maelstrom either, so it’s not something I can attest to personally either.

VT was never my thing so I can’t comment, but I’ve never had routine problems filling lobby’s at sub-Auric difficulty levels consistently in Darktide except at the absolute lowest levels.

I’m sure you’re the best there is friend, but I’ve never said it was hard for zealot. I’m only agreeing that it made engaging in melee fun again, since it wasn’t as braindead. I actually want the game to be harder, like a lot of people.

The fact that the regular shooters were way stronger than the ELITE gunners was stupid.

I agree that we need more difficulty but it should be done more realistically to balance enemy types.

A T6 difficulty would work well imo, as T5 difficulty has pretty much been established by now and shouldnt be changed to much. Also with the crafting/item changes coming I feel like we are going to get much stronger and a power creep may occur, so a T6 difficulty i think would make sense pretty soon.

Look i play a lot of games its my main hobby, but what im seeing here is people who have thousands of hours in this game complaining about the game bot being hard enough. I do think a new late game mode like weaves from Vermintide would be a great addition to the game, but that doesn’t change that people are complaining and acting like they are the majority because they aren’t. Casuals still make up a big portion of the playerbase and they wont play a game that they have to put 100 hours into to get good. Theres also a thing mentally where no one wants to play the boring dogshit lower difficultys, they actually want to have hoards in their hoard game. And to say “they shouldn’t play a game like this then” then you kinda want this game to fail because every game needs a casual playerbase. And not to mention at the end of the day this is fatsharks “side” project. They still primarily focus on vermintide

So that all auric tourists can cry in another 5 months that T6 is overtuned and needs a nerf?

Just sell T6 in a DLC, those who want a higher difficulty will buy it.
