Reducing Lasgun Recoil Didn't Address The Real Issues

The thing is there’s barely any actual recoil on the lasgun. It’s the visual recoil that’s screwing with people. The Laspistol Mk. X has a similar type of visual recoil but much less jarring.

when your pistol jerk in a hand like a wild thing you ar hardly pay a lot attention at actual accuracy.

current realisation of recon lasgun and light laspiston is good enought.
FS just need to smooth heavy laspistol, hellbor and infantry lasguns to this state.

only the infantry lasgun has that, both visual recoil with your crosshair jumping around and actual recoil i.e. aim going up

so when people ask to remove recoil from infantry lasgun it’s really just asking to make it work like the other lasguns, so the excerpt of fatshark saying lasguns have recoil is kinda irrelevant. the other ones dont. i’m not sure i necessarily agree though, i think they should probably all have recoil but the bouncing animation while ads should probably be a little bit less obnoxious

heavy version have a “very very bad” recoil animaion like an infantry las

What I’m talking about is the fact that the sight picture bends, and you get the outer reticle misaligned with the dot, and you combine that with the way darktide handles recoil making it impossible to control plus recentering the reticle afterward despite no other prominent shooters handling recoil in any of those ways, and for good reason mind you, and it’s the particular way recoil exists on the infantry las that’s the problem. Not the fact it has it. Not the amount. It’s the way it’s implemented that’s the issue.

The same problem with the walking sight bob and ADS bob - it fights against mouse movement, screwing micro adjustments and making your aim slightly off where it should be were your view to adjust a normal amount. It’s not the fact there is bob while walking or ADS, it’s how it’s implemented.

They tried something different, but it just makes the voidstrike staff, any gun that doesn’t zoom, and the ogryn weapons with just a crosshair the best feeling guns in the game because they don’t have any of these features.

you’re right, i didn’t think to check that one and only used it briefly, but i’m still correct about all but two las weapons having not even aimbounce so how am i delusional? stop being mad for no reason, you can communicate like a normal human if you try

also it ONLY has aimbounce no recoil. it’s still pinpoint accurate. unlike the infantry lasgun which has aimbounce AND recoil so it shoots above where you originally aimed after shooting. so it’s still uniquely affected by recoil unlike any other lasgun

and he is talking about the infantry lasgun which has actual mechanical recoil. your post with fatshark designers saying that lasguns are meant to have recoil is IRRELEVANT because only the infantry lasgun has this characteristic, they’re talking about non gameplay impacting vfx. it is not a relevant post to quote, because despite what they said, the majority of lasguns in the game don’t even have aim bounce. so how could you use the post about lasguns in general to justify aim bounce and recoil on that one weapon?

and again btw i don’t even necessarily agree it should be changed. but you can’t dismiss the concept with a fatshark quote that’s totally irrelevant because it doesn’t apply to any other lasgun type
