About one in every ten games I play, my game will hitch for a moment and suddenly all players connected to me will drop. On one occasion, the two that reconnected reported they suffered a crash, while on another, the one that reconnected said it was a simple DC, before being dropped again shortly after.
After ending the game and returning to Taal’s Horn Keep, I immediately received a “broken connection” error, after which the lobby reloaded.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
Unknown. Just sometimes happens when you play for long enough.
An addendum: even more rarely when this happens, sometimes one player will survive the mass disconnect. The symptoms are the same (hitch on my end followed by sudden and immediate DCs)
Here’s a game session log with one player suddenly disconnecting halfway through a run of Chaos Wastes. This playtime was pretty long, but it happened during the second CW expedition, if that helps.
Thanks. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be anything specific from this log, but if a disconnection of all connected players happens that would be good to see still.
A rare issue does exist that a Steam lobby can become corrupted, which is identifiable by being disconnected players being unable to rejoin that lobby. In these instances, the only solution is to close the broken lobby and create a new one. I wonder if this could be the reason why.
That would track with the “Broken Connection” error upon returning to lobby and in some cases players not being able to rejoin even after trying.
I have not had an all-disconnect since this thread was created (thank you Tzeentch, very cool), so that was the closest I can get - I’ll update again if it happens. The sudden hitch could just as well be related to the game suddenly having to load assets for the bot replacing the player, since I have noticed similar hiccups when a player is in the middle of joining a game.
