Rapier Push Attack Weapon Swap Delay

Please let me know if this has been reported before. After performing the Rapier’s push attack there is a large delay for swapping to a ranged weapon or any carried item.

  • Steps to reproduce the issue:

    1. With the rapier, perform a push attack and let go of block.
    2. Without doing anything else, try to swap to your ranged weapon or any item you’re carrying. There will be a large delay for the swap.
  • How consistently the issue occurs for you:

    • Always, unless I do another attack after the push attack, keep blocking or use the pistol pistol special. This only occurs with the push attack, just pushing does not result in a swap delay. The Input Buffer and Priority Input Buffer settings have no effect on the delay. Regardless of key input (using quickswap, keys dedicated to a specific item slot or scroll wheel) the delay occurs.
  • Screenshots and/or video evidence:

    • Rapier push attack swap delay: https://youtu.be/LkuBfrGGUYg
You can see I am spamming my ‘e’ key to swap to my ranged weapon (I have it bound to e). Note how there is not delay for swapping if I perform another attack after the push attack or keep blocking. This was tested on the Official Realm.
    • There is no such swap delay after performing a push attack for other weapons like the 1h Axe, as seen here: https://youtu.be/4wedmzEfpQ8
In these videos my Input Buffer setting is set to 0.5. My Priority Input Buffer setting is set 2. I did not record tests with other Input Buffer and Priority Input Buffer settings but the unrecorded tests I did confirm they have no effect on it.

Off topic: I don’t recall it being mentioned - the Riposte bug I reported was fixed. Thank you!

I always assumed it was a “fearure”. Would be sweet if they changed it, would make rapier feel silky smooth.
