Witnesses: Rossel
Issue: Blatant intentional racism, Vulgar language. Gender and sexual orientation discrimination and sexual harassment language.
Griefing teammates / Intentionally exploding barrels to damage teammates 4 times.
Harassing a level 22 player named Rossel that he wasn’t level 30 playing on Malice difficulty.
Abusing the vote kick system. They continuously attempted to vote kick Rossel who is innocent and finally vote kicked me after Rossel left due to them having a 2 player majority vote immunity.
Intentionally triggering a Demonhost to kill the group.
Lying, denying exploding barrels to damage teammates. Manipulatively blaming and saying Rossel is exploding barrels.
Vote kicked me after I exposed them for unacceptable behavior and harassment.
No one should have to witness or endure this type of mannerism, racism and behavior on any game.
I am extremely offended and annoyed by this experience.
These 2 players < snipped by Hedge > deserve to be banned and have no place in the Emperor’s ranks.
Such people, if what you reported is true, should get problems.
I hate such behavior. I want to play with people that I take pleasure to meet.
There are people that have more skill than me. I have no problem to say it. I learn from them.
However, when I see people disrespectful or that looks like a kid that is 16 that threat others “noob” etc. (and are playing worse than you)… well, I don’t want to play with such people.
In similar situation as you describe, next time, I would advice you to take the time in the game to add them on the block list before arguing with them. And after, you can report them to FS.
This is an unfortunate aspect of playing Co-Op games online. I haven’t personally witnessed any blatant racism or sexism while playing. But I do believe it happens. Most of the time no one really says anything until game is over and then it’s just a quick, “gg”. But I have had a session or two with the barrel people. They just think it’s hilarious.
It’s a strong argument for playing with a pre-made team, which isn’t an option for all of us. Even my team is down to 2 maybe 3 of us on at one time. If you’re on Steam my account name is diodrin. Send me a friend invite and I’ll be happy to play when I have time. I work all week, so it’s a few sessions throughout the week but the weekend is wide open for some games. We only play for fun. We don’t care about being great, just enjoying ourselves. If you have Melk stuff to do just say so. I don’t care about the contracts anymore, but have no issue helping others get them done.
Sadly there are people like this out there, they are usually not very good at the game and take it out on everyone else. I don’t know what the proper channels for reporting this sort of thing are, but I am sure they exist. I wonder if the block function in social would prevent you from being put into matches with that person again, that would be nice.
One option is checking the social tab in the Morningstar and seeing who is around. I have gotten invites to squads from randoms and had a great time. I remember getting one from a group of friends who were level 5 and wanted a level 30 to help them. It was actually a lot of fun carrying them through levels and explaining game mechanics to them.
I saw something similar a few weeks after I first started playing dark tide and felt the same way. At the time I wanted to blanket mute every person I bumped into in game or just remove the chat box
People on the forum told me the community is good and it was just unlucky to bump into people like this. At the time I didn’t believe them but its true people here are chill even when something goes wrong and they are a bit tilted mostly you just say gg and go to next game.
The advice I got at the time was to just block the crazy person and move on. The social tab is a bit rubbish atm so when your in game with these people doing something like this just go to the social tab block them and leave the game.
The higher up the difficulty you go the more relaxed people get which seems counter intuitive but its true
Take it easy man and careful outing people on forums or reddit you can get in trouble for that I think.
I gotta say I have yet to have such an experience in Darktide, but that is probably due to me playing mostly Damanation and the occasional Heresy run and those diffs probably weed out a lot of the leeway for such bs.
Then again I cannot really comment on
since a lot of situationally funny dark humor can be viewed that way.
Still stuff like
and
is extremely toxic bahavior in my eyes.
Like if the Rossel dude was dying a whole lot I could understand someone suggesting to him that he might be underleveled considering his current skill level, but the way you described the situation seemed way out of line compared to this approach.
Its an unfortunate online experience. Its the internet stuff like that happens. Just move on to the next game or play in a private lobby with your friend if you don’t want to interact with people.
Apologies about posting screenshots with explicit language. I just tried to provide evidence.
Also apologize for shaming people, Im new to the forum rules.
Thank you for directing me where to report.
It was 2 guys just dropping N bombs with the hard R. Constantly making racial slurs. Thats a bit much. It would be a suspension in most multiplayer games.
Thats not even the worst part. I can ignore and not read the chat, but they were exploding barrels on us and intentionally attacking the demonhost to get us killed.
Most people in the darktide community have been great. I very much enjoy the game and have nearly 500 hours played.
I’d bet a million dollars they’d never have the balls to actually say that in the physical company of a bunch of black guys. But I’d love to watch 'em get their asses beat. Hell I’d pay a million to lose that bet. lol
True, that’s quite a bit much. I’ve had a similar experience once in all my 2100h of VT2 (on Cata believe it or not), where I joined two slavs who were just randomly dropping that sh*t out of nowhere and that - believe me - became annoying quickly and I have a very loose and dark sense of humor myself.
I honestly don’t care what people converse about in the confines of their own lobbies, but a bit of courtesy towards the people your playing with is mandatory in my opinion.
In your case - I would have left immediately once they started popping barrels, because my bs tolerance is very small.
I normally do damnation too, but I was doing T3-4 for contracts for quicker games.
Everything everyone said here is true. Damnation players are more chill and better. Most of the idiots are in the lower difficulties.
I played VT2 also and the community was great. People are tolerant friendly and helpful in these games. This is the first time I encountered this type of behavior on Darktide or Vermintide.
This type of toxic behavior is something I would expect to see in League of legends, free to play game, or dead and unmoderated game.
You are right, however that is not the point here. I don’t mind being kicked. I do mind someone starting kick vote every 5 seconds. This needs to be addressed, please.
