New QuickPlay Button
Since the recent changes with difficulty and such, could we have a “wider” quickplay button? That if I hit quickplay (or a new quick play button) it could throw me into Auric Mortis Trials, Auric regular missions, and Maelstrom missions? Basically anything at the highest difficulty except the havoc game mode (which for obvious reasons should be left alone). At this point in the game I have all the penances done (except for the pox breaker one) and would rather have variety and thrown into whatever situation and help other people.
Quickplay prioritization
How are games prioritized for all the available options in which one to throw you into? I am sure some of this is happening somehow in the background, but for logic in prioritizing who/which game to throw you into I would like to see:
1.) Servers
- Distance to the same servers for latency and technical reasons should be the most important variable.
2.) Duplicate classes
- This is the second most important to me. It helps to ensure people don’t have similar builds trying to fulfill similar roles and having the same voices in the mission. I prefer not duping a class already present, but who knows, maybe I am the minority in this.
3.) Time elapsed
- Unless you’re trying to speed run weeklies, events, penances, etc. I believe most players want a game that’s starting closer to the beginning vs dropping in at the end and having the mission be complete. Or dropping in missing health and ammo and in a bad spot. Being dropped in closer to the beginning helps with these… although then again the parties that probably need the most help are the ones in the middle or near the end and still have bots. Maybe a HD2-esque “SOS” feature could help here

4.) Duplicate personalities and voices
- I am sure most people don’t like hearing the exact same voice and personality as their character and would be best to avoid this as much as possible. Don’t need two female psykers in the same party fighting over their beloved. And male/female psykers talking about their beloved is better but still should be avoidable if possible. The banter in darktide is pretty good. Doesn’t hit as well with clones.
5.) Duplicate blitzes, abilities, auras, weapons, etc.
-
I am not sure which of these, as a category would be better to prioritize for player experience and team efficacy. Having more unique Auras, for example, would be the most practical since the same aura doesn’t stack (I believe) but I don’t think players notice/care about auras as much. But having two (3 or 4) smites, bubbles, choruses, shouts, etc. can be more noticeable and feel less important if someone else is acting as a backup/redundancy vs a feeling of uniqueness. Do we want 4 players with flamers? In either case, I think logic that attempts to avoid duplicating here would also be nice.
Maybe we can have official information and exactly what the coding/logic is for this.
Changing classes
This is a general thing, not specific to quickplay, but PLEASE let me change classes before I am thrown into a mission. If I hit quick play and see it’s lights out, dogs, a specific maelstrom modifier, see what the team comp is, etc. It would be much better to be able to change what character I have from the ready up screen. It hurts so much I can’t do this.
Addendum:
These can also be just options/settings at the mission terminal. Like with how it’s private or not as an option, add mortis trials, maelstrom, duplicate classes, etc.
