I play Veteran and have never seen this happen, so I’m puzzled.
Playing Damnation, and we just healed up with a med station. Exited the area into the final room on Dark Communion. I fight a horde and get dinged from behind and see my health drop 50% but my toughness was still 100%. I was running Infiltrate (not at that moment) and no teammates were ever providing us with any gold toughness the entire match.
I was confused because the fight just started and there were no tougher enemies in the area yet.
Is there an attack type that I’m not aware of that ignores toughness like this? Was there a change in the recent update? Or could this be a bug? Maybe I don’t understand toughness like I thought I did and this is normal? When I get dinged in the back by horde, I usually lose a few points of toughness at least even if my health took a hit. Was just curious what the deal was so I can learn from it.
My theorie is that it has to do with the servers since toughnes/health etc is all server bound and not local. So on your end it may seem like 1 enemie hit you but on the servers side 5 enemies hit you.
This sounds almost like you took fall damage somehow. There shouldn’t be any melee attacks that straight up bypass it without also nuking your toughness, and if you havent seen any gold toughness at all it’s unlikely a VoC vet refilled it right after you got stabbed or something
Naw, like I mentioned, it was the very beginning of the fight. Only the first horde came out with no elites or specials yet. No fire was on the ground and no barrels were hit. That’s why I was surprised. It’s the only time I ever noticed this happen, but I noticed because I got hit by more than 1 enemy in the back (my fault) and I dodged out.
Nobody was providing gold toughness and the only other vet was a rank 600+ running Executioners Stance. I do wish I had a video of it just to clarify what happened.
Maybe, but I doubt it because at least some time passed after using the station to the point of the horde spawning and me positioning myself (into a bad spot apparently).
I wouldn’t put it past me though to be dense enough to not notice that. Who knows.
