My suggestion is aimed as a quality of life improvement. I have played primarily Kruber with 270+ hours invested in the game and a large amount of that invested in the end-game content.
Currently Paced Strikes works as follows: Buff is granted upon cleaving through 3 enemies with a melee weapon. In order for the buff to be refreshed it must first fall off and then another 3 enemies must be cleaved through to gain the buff again.
My idea is simple, allow Paced Strikes to be refreshed BEFORE the buff expires by cleaving through 3 subsequent enemies. In my opinion, this would be an excellent improvement to smooth out Mercenary’s playstyle as I find having to wait for the buff to fall off before refreshing it a bit awkward.
