Powersword makes all other melee weapons, as well as Zealot and Ogryn, irrelevant

Bolter having 160 rounds on Vet, that is a LOT of damage if you compare it to other weapons in the autogun weaponline.

Bolter needs less ammo. Make the ammo valuable, as it should be. I see too many vets just gunning down single wreches with this.

Powersword having an overheat mechanic would actually solve the problem more elegantly than adding a cooldown.

Those weapons suck because you can NEVER rev and attack an elite without getting locked into an animation.
Damage is dealt over time.
And I don’t know you, but in T5, I rarely see elites alone hahaha.

An overheat mechanic treated like psyker quelling? That’s actually not an unreasonable nerf for a weapon that doesn’t need one. If that went through I think people could live with it. (Definitely no self damage though, plasma venting has enough of that to make plasma feel bad to use for most of the people I’ve asked.)

ComradeHX: For vet, it doesn’t crit so that’s a clown build

I don’t think you understand the concept of a power fantasy. Or the idea that even if something isn’t meta doesn’t mean it isn’t fun.

You can make a horde disappear u p to 24m. That special at 25m is gonna be laughing at you
Deployment and reload speeds are no joke too. Even with perks

It would make sense for the powersword to have some sort of “cooldown” to appease the machine spirit inside.

Make it a bit of a higher skill ceiling weapon rather than the goto.
40% of the time, a god on the battlefield, 60% a cripple.
It would also fit the Vet a lot better as he’s not meant to be in combat, so when he does he gets that initial humpf to finish things quick, but not to linger.

How about instead. We just idunno. Buff the Thunderhammer to where it feels more lore accurate on its damage and do something to deal with the issue of off screen pox walkers tanking your hits with it. I dont think Power Sword is OP. I think its more an issue that the options on Zealot just feel bad rn. Especially when combined with how much they get screwed by the toughness bleedthrough. I havent put enough time into Ogryn to have a take there though.

I feel like throwing around nerfs all willy nilly so early into the life of the game instead of buffing the weaker things into a fun and useful level is a mistake.

Having a weak build isn’t power fantasy, it’s just being a roleplaying clown.

I was testing a +4% crit chance flamer in the meat grinder and I was getting the yellow crit numbers, so think you might be mistaken there.

Actually look at damage chart.
Crit modifier is basically nonexistent. And patchnotes already said it doesn’t crit.
Either it doesn’t actually crit or the ult refresh…etc. just doesn’t work with it.

Either way, its low range and lack of synergy is simply out of place on zealot.

Those perks were allowed on the flamer by mistake, and the ability for flamers to get them was disabled at launch.

That being said, Martyrdom and Rising Conviction should absolutely apply to it, and even then it’s kind of a silly weapon to give to a class that should be clearing hordes with the 2h chainsaw sword that every zealot player has already set on the shelf to collect dust.

@ZealotEnthusiast I wasn’t talking about how much damage it does when critting or the viability of the weapon, just whether or not it is capable of critting. I don’t know what to tell you both. I took one into the meat grinder literally last night and was consistently seeing yellow numbers pop up. I can record and post a video tonight if anyone requires hard proof I’m not making stuff up.

And you’ve been told repeatedly that the flamer critting is a mistake acknowledged by Fatshark that has since been rectified…if you ever refine that flamer, that perk will likely be gone forever. I have one or two as well.

I thought you were saying that it was literally impossible, so I guess I misunderstood. 100% sure I got this flamer after launch though. Pretty sure I bought it from the shop a few days ago so they might have messed up removing the bonus crit chance perk…

Fixed an issue where the Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer could get a crit perk despite being unable to crit.

That was from patchnotes.

I doubt they actually fixed it because I think I still saw a flamer in store with crit stuff.

I really don’t like it tbh and that’s because I find it boring

I generally roll Catachan Sword on Heresy for athleticism and mobility. I use with SMG with god rolls of +dmg to maniacs (although +to flak will prob work better) and +power on stagger

I mean thats a valid argument, but just because its boring doesn’t mean its not overtuned currently. Also you use the smg like the handgun on VET defaq or u mean assault rifle.

As for actual post itself. Yah I think powersword needs an overheat or something, but more importantly…the other weapons need to be better. They all are just inferior not because powersword is overtuned (it is), but because they just suck to use. The only reason knife is ever used is because of a clear exploit/unintended bug and thats on zealot. No reason zealot grenades should do bleed damage and have a chance to isntant kill.

SMG. It staggers more than Lasers and is more accurate than Autoguns

You whip it out instantly and is very mobile

can easily mow through mass specials on Heresy, react quickly to Maniacs, and burn through Maulers with ult. At midrange you can tap fire strafe dodge vs Snipers

Its main weaknesses are armored Ogryns and the Mutant, but often you will need to dodge Mutants anyway instead of having time to hose them down with a gun. They still take good damage

I don’t know of a single weapon that is referred to as an SMG in game. Can you please use the in game name for what you’re talking about? Do you mean auto pistol?

Yes, the auto pistol
