Monsters take reduced damage from most ranged attacks and some melee.
Wouldn’t say most ranged.
Outside of generally being more resilient to headshots, they only take less damage from spread weapons like repeater/blunder, taking the same from accurate ones like handgun and swift bow, while taking more damage from longbows and repeating crossbows.
