THe way you argument isn’t overly friendly every time. [edited a word out]
But that’s my personal opinion, just like the rest
You dislike the way i make reasonable points and suggestions?
Real toxic of me, to suggest a solution that would make both sides happy…
it’s the way you present it and the way your spin things around.
Content of your message is A-ok, phrasing… eh
Now to come back to the subject:
You usually don’t want 50 different subsystems when you have a weapon class.
That’s just basic game design to not make your life hell down the line hahaha
Please point out the toxicity in my presentation, and what i spun around.
I am not sure what you mean.
If you can point these things out to me, i am willing to do better next time.
If you can not point these things out to me, then i probably didn’t do it.
English is not my native language, but when compared to the other posts on here, my phrasing is better than probably >95% of them.
My sentences are properly structured and their message is pretty hard to misunderstand.
Not sure why you would criticize that aspect of my posts.
Unless you can point out what exactly you are referring to, your criticism looks more like a personal attack, than actual criticism of what i wrote.
Accusations of toxicity are toxic. Just call them an ass if they’re being one.
I see everyone is getting along here in the power sword thread…
Maybe the poll master general @Ralendil wouldn’t mind putting to bed what hypothetical version of the power sword is most attractive to the community?
Been done.
The answer was no one agreed on anything lol
People not agreeing on the internet?! Color me surprised.
And that’s how it should be. If a weapon alone wold be enough to equal the performance of one entire class focused on melee and mobility we wolud really have a bit of a problem don’t you agree? Moreover a Veteran with a good PS would have performed pretty well too in that situation.
Not sure why this thread is so long (TL;DR), but the solution is very simple.
- remove PC blessing
- remove activation
- add deflector blessing to PS
- add T4 PC as default (without activation)
- make special such that you can throw the PS and it flies around the room taking heads off of specials/elites before returning to you while, in the mean time, you can use your ranged weapon to kill whatever is left in the room.
Can you imagine the sheer amount of FUN that would be achieved?
That’s the goal, right? Fun?
It doesn’t have to turn into an actual lightsabre (not that I personally don’t like the sound of that) but yeah this is certainly one good way of doing it.
The special attack could be a dedicated strikedown attack against carapace or just a different attack of any kind, who cares at this point.
This removes a ton of RNG, frustation and monotony from the PS, great idea.
Unfortunately I think that is precicely why changes like these will not happen. I’d gladly be proven wrong. Looking at you FS
Nah let’s make every single weapon feel like a wet noodle, that stunlocks you on every heavy attack for 0,5 seconds + they require 1+ blessing + 1 perk + 2 particular class feats to do any damage at all.
This way the sweats who have 3000 hours on the clock and cry for nerfs all day, can have some semblance of challenge again.
I’m so sorry to hear that, sir.
If you are having issues with stunlocks on your power sword, please return it to your local tech-priest for repairs.
Additional charges may apply
You know damn well our local Tech-Priest hates us…
Before this topic gets auto-closed due to 7d rule I would just like to state, that as of today the Powersword still isn’t fun - and mandatory blessings are still bad game design. And while RNG-free crafting would improve the experience taht still wouldn’t change that PS in it’s current state isn’t fun anymore for players who used to like it and manadtory blessings would still stay bad game design.
Try Slaughterer + Brutal Momentum.
Brutal Momentum uncaps your damage cleave and deals the percentage damage of your third cleave target to every enemy that your cleave hits afterward (which is functionally infinite).
This is easy mode. Try it. It’s infinitely better than Power Cycler.
Shove > Activate > Swing > Shove > Activate > Swing.
False, Brutal Momentum does not increase damage cleave cap. Power Sword’s damage cleave cap is already at 10.
Sorry I misspoke. Everything in your cleave will take the third target portion of damage with Brutal Momentum active. You can clear out half a horde in one swing with it and 5 stacks of Slaughterer (which you will gain instantaneously during the swing).
Either way, Power Sword doesn’t need to be rebuffed, and it doesn’t really have “required blessings.”
It’s just not the raw numbers, it’s that the feel of it has changed dramatically when you have to energise it every swing unless you are lucky. People only focus on the blessings (power cycler) because it lessens the unfun part of the sword a bit.
If it had started that way, it would just be an annoying weapon to use, analagous to the chainsword, but because a previous version of a weapon has been literally taken away from us does it feel as bad as it does to a lot of us (unless you’re lucky). It’s not satisfying hitting things with an unpowered power sword because a big draw of the power sword is the audiovisual component.
