There are a lot of cool mods but it’s not always obvious what a mod does from it’s name.
audible_ability_recharge
This mod plays a small sound when my ult comes off cooldown and is ready again (I had trouble with the color of the icon and would some times try to activate it thinking it was ready when it was not).
PerilGauge
Correctly shows what your true peril is like because peril works through some weird internal tick mechanism so the basic UI didn’t correctly show your true peril levels. I’d some times quell to ~90% and then blow myself up because, in fact, my peril was actually still 100%.
NumericUI
Shows numbers of stacks of certain buffs, cooldowns, number of dodges remaining etc.
DisplayPing
Shows ping to server in ms.
CaptainKillFeed
Adds monstrosity kills to the elite/special kill feed.
PlayerDeathfeed
Adds player deaths to the kill feed and shows what killed them (not always obvious if you got shot or took a crusher overhead in all the chaos of battle).
TalentRefundBelow
So you can directly switch talents without having to completely re-do your entire build.
who_are_you
Shows steam names of players.
true_level
Shows true level of players.
scoreboard
The dmg/kill stats basically everyone uses.
hub_hotkey_menus
Instead of having to run around on the mourningstar, just bind keys to launch the various shops/terminals.
BornReady
Automate readying up when joining a lobby, skipping the end-of-mission screen, accepting mission prompts, and accepting/declining party invites and join requests. I only use it to skip end-of-mission screens.
They don’t truly guarantee anything, but the games input respond noticeably worse when I don’t use them. Particularly weapon swap has saved me literally innumerable times. I still cannot fathom what it is with this game and input, but especially the weapon swap mod transforms the game for me from unplayable to playable. I’ve lost count of the number of times I could not switch away from brainburst in case I wanted to equip my melee weapon and block or start swinging only for my character to just keep trying to charge up brainburst. The game is fundamentally broken inside it on some computers I guess.
The star of my list is ZipIt, though it needs an update. I can’t stand the distracting constant and repetitive dialogue in this game, and this mod fixes that. In VT2, it’s endearing, and I enjoy the characters. In Darktide it’s distracting. I can choose which character dialogue to enable. With almost no dialogue, it transforms the experience into one that allows you to take in the atmosphere and environment.
The Mission Brief mod substitutes for the verbal mission brief you hear everytime.
Automod load order now makes it simple. I recommend that, then once it’s setup, all you have to do is drag and drop mod files when they update.

scoreboard
ovenproof_scoreboard_plugin – The above 3 are for scoreboard, I like the extra stats ovenproof’s plugin provides and powerDI was such a performance hit when I was trying it
true_level
numericui – See the numbers + some other QoL
BackstabColor – For Zealot to get actual feedback when hitting a backshot
SimpleSpeedMeter
uptime – Companion to Scoreboard for comparing builds and talent/blessings within builds
BetterLoadouts – Lets you have a bajillion loadouts
LoadoutNames – Name the builds
LoadoutMonitor – See what weapons + blessings others are running at a glance + adds to scoreboard for personal tracking
MultiBind – I have jump to scroll up and V because you can’t actually vault on ogryn with scroll wheel
show_crit_chance – Psykhanium only testing
WarpUnboundTimer – Show the 10 seconds you’re free to keep blasting as psyker. This one is borderline but I don’t think the game communicates this window well
StimmsPickupIcon – See stimms in others’ inventory
better_hud_info_view – Fixes the tactical overlay (press Tab) with the scoreboard enabled
True Solo + Soloplay for when I feel like true solo runs
Creature Spawner for when I feel like practicing with a build vs a boss
Otherwise its vanilla for me. But mods Id like to see natively in-game are scoreboards and true level, more loadouts and customizable buttons for controllers.
