Possible PS5 Release?

Rest assured it won’t happen on the oldgen, the game is heavy even for Series X. FPS drops, long freezings, sound problems. This is a game imagined for PC.

The upcoming PS5 Pro will probably look better but stable 60 is probably off the table until like PS6.

It has nothing to do with polygons, the bottleneck is probably CPU as the game’s logic unlike Space Marine 2 or World War Z gives each enemy its own instructions.

True, I played a little bit of wwz not a lot of issues as I remember. Same with SM2, except the only issue I have with Space Marines 2 is server connections

Yes because they have a hive mind so to speak, you can tell this by how swarms move when far from the player: flow like water along one motion vector. Only when close by they gain some kind of consciousness.

And in Darktide some random 1 HP punk will relentlessly trace you across the map using real backdoors and no magical teleportation. All of this eats CPU.

I’m not saying Saber did a bad job, it’s just their tech prioritize different gameplay aspects than Fatshark’s.

I know that there was information that it passed the rating review in Taiwan.
december 1 marks the second anniversary of Darktide.
last year we had the anniversary update of “The Traitor Curse”, so there will be something this year as well.
a PS5 release may possibly be announced at the same time.

That’s exactly what I’m hoping. I play on Xbox but… It needs to hurry up and come to PS5😂

The console release was on the first week of October and that’s when possible alleged exclusivity period may expire.

I really hope your right… I dig space marines 2 but the match making is an issue, so I’m trying to talk them into Darktide, if it comes to PS5…

If they do i am sure the PC community will throw another fit about it.

No luck at the State of Play. :frowning: Wonder if Sony can’t advertise it until the exclusivity deal is up or something. If it’s coming this year I would assume this would’ve been a good time to announce it.

I just don’t understand why the deads would be dragging their feet on this… It’s a ported over to the PS5 it would open up a larger player base which means more money for them right?

They’re developing it, it just take time cause the architecture of the console isn’t the same as pc/Xbox

Same thing would happen if they did a Switch port

Because they aren’t? The game has been out for almost 3 years now… If it takes time, it better look immaculate.

Xbox release was initially promised and scheduled to be launched along the PC version but they ran into some technical issues and moved it further and it ended up to be a full year delay. I think the initial devs plan was to release PS5 version in 2023 when Xbox version was eventually launched.

That’s why the PS5 release is so late if even happening. And it probably happening after 1 year of Xbox exclusivity - that is my guess. So it should be very soon.

I have read the why you use a controller, and I totally understand it… and I hope they will make it easier for you.

However, due to what is dakrtide in high difficulties, the mouse and keyboard is a game changer. This is the difference between a sniper killed in 2 seconds, and you being killed by this sniper…

That’s why you will get less controller players on these forums.

On a side note, I have pain on my fingers if I keep pressing a button. This is REALLY painful. And I would keep hating Fatshark for their controls.
I explain… when you want to run you have two systems in Darktide. You can choose to press it to run and keep pressing it until you want to stop to run, OR you can configure it to press one time and run until you press it again… EXCEPT if you are hit. Then here you immediately walk. Who was drunk enough when they designed the system to think this is a good system?
This lead to instant death on an auric mission.

There are two mods on nexus addressing running problems. I had to create my AHK script to introduce my own fix… when I press run, I run until I press it again. I can stop to run, I can get hit, I can slide, I can do whatever I need, I will always run until I press it again (i have not reinvented the wheel, 90% of the games I played work like that, I have never seen a game where you run until you are hit and then walk again until you press it again, then rewalk immediately cause something has again hit you).
My problem is that crouching works the same. I would have wanted two separate key, one for sliding, and one for crouching. Then I would have made the same script.
In fact, I rarely crouch cause of this. This is too painful for my hand.
So, please fatshark, the 2 options that should permit us to press once a key to maintain crouching or running should maintain the stance until we press it again… no matter if we go forward, be hit or anything else… nothing should change the state, we should keep the last state, so running or walking, and being crouched or standing still. This is not difficult
To complete the marksman penance, I did it by selecting uprising difficulty (in solo), and staying crouched the entire mission (just to keep the 10+ stacks of marksman, stupid keystone).
Really, the darktide commands could be improved. We are in 2024, give us options. We don’t all use same settings and don’t play all with same tools and the same way.
