Exclusive Combination Button is basically while its pushed down it changes the behavior of A, B and Y buttons.
To put some credibility on the matter: I am a gamepad exclusive console player (I can’t use mouse and keyboard for gaming because of a specific health issue). I have 544 hours on Darktide, playing all four classes, have earned secret Karnak Twins achievement. Playing Damnation / Auric Damnation most of the time.
I think the current state of Gamepad controls is very frustrating but I understand that this was not a priority before. I am using third-party tools to customize my gamepad bindings but it would be great to have it solved by first-party. It’s not easy to do these things by myself on a console.
Some time ago I also bought gyro tool so now I am using gyro aiming (around 80-100 hours of all playtime is with gyro aiming) in the Darktide and this layout proved to be viable even with gyro so Playstation users will also benefit from this layout if we’ll eventually see PS5 release.
It is also friendly to PC Gamepad users who can’t stand holding buttons so there is not a single hold action involved except Opening Com Wheel and even that one can be changed if placed on Dpad Down sacrificing separate Item control.
I am welcoming all gamepad players to voice their opinions. I also feeling a bit guilty doing this but I am tagging @FatsharkStrawHat in case he may be able to escalate it for consideration, if not then I am sorry.
UPDATE 1: Alternative Layout for those prioritizing running/dodging flexibility and is perfect for sprinting while holding the button.
The power of this layout in very comfortable dodging both in Hip and in ADS.
I also have idea with layout utilizing holding of a button but again the community doesn’t like holding buttons.
