I am on console, I wanted to ask if it’s possible to assign running on LB instead of L3 on Button Bumper Dodger layout.
This layout is the best because you can dash and spam melee attack simultaneously. The problem is that it’s very inconvenient to use left thumbstick click as run toggle in such fast paced game like Darktide.
In this layout left bumper is dodge, but you can only dodge back and left / right as long as you’re not leaning stick forward - in which case this button can be used for running. This would be a perfect control scheme since I’ll be able to slide. Right now if run toggle is used then I just crouch half of the time after ice got hit or L3 didn’t click fully and holding the stick is literally painful, so both running and dashing with LB is a solution to all these problems. I can disable run toggle since holding LB is not a bid deal and use my stamina strategically.
L3 would be way more useful as target marking in this case.
It would be also very useful to have blitz binded on holding button Y for 0.2 seconds or so, so when mutant is running towards you, instead of choosing between rock and dashing you could do both. And on Psyker where blitz is is literally your second ranged weapon it’s very hard to select it with current best control schemes.
Holding a button is common practice and it’s been in console AAA for a while for a while.
I use just the default button layout, but I was just curious how your dodging is with it being on LB
I ask because it is “ping” for me (default layout) and I find it annoying to ping while holding left trigger to aim/block since my index finger does both the trigger and the bumper. How do you dodge while aiming or blocking?

Oh snap, forgot to ask if you are playing with a controller with paddles? I use the 4 paddles on the back to basically do everything including blitz which is super comfortable
I don’t play on controller so I can’t relate, but I’m really hoping they allow for full binding customization in the near future. I don’t think it’s acceptable in it’s current state.
This won’t help Op, but the controllers with paddles usually (maybe always?) have software to remap every button. IMO, any serious fps controller player should have these controllers or else you really are at a meaningful disadvantage since you are only using 4 fingers instead of 8 (at least that was my experience)
There is a period of adaptation when you’ll be trying to dodge with A, but in the end LB dodge is so much better, you will immediately see how your melee encounters improved.
In these moments I am using both my index and middle fingers.
No, just the basic Xbox wireless controller. I heard bad things about the pro controller, what paddle controller do you use? Is it wireless?
Right now they even have a bug in the layout and each restart of the game you need to go into options to fix it.
I thought buying Wolverine but the cord, not sure if it will be comfortable playing from the couch. Can you plug headphones into the Wolverine? As for the elite I am afraid it will break too fast for its money.
Yes, damnation / auric damnation. Regular for chill farm, auric for fun. But you need to dodge though and try not to drop.
