Too often the bad gets conflated with the good and people get stuck on what isn’t or could have been and lose sight of what is. I have my gripes but I’m going to try to keep my criticisms to a minimum and celebrate what is.
Darktide despite many of its issues is an epic love letter to the 40k community. The initial release was rocky but they managed to create addictive visceral combat and give you first person access to the universe, which is not an easy ambience to create. The voice acting is top karking notch. The feel and aesthetic of the weaponry is great. The sound effects and music teams havr blown it out of the water and have managed to create a distinctive world. The customer support team has been attentive and have worked hard to build confidence. Catfish worked hard to restore broken community trust and while change has been slow, in a lot of cases fatshark has listened to feedback and tried to improve. I think they did a phenomenal job on the arbites release and I can only hope a tech adept is in the cards for the future!
Kudos fatshark. This won’t stop me from calling out the bad, but you’ve been redeeming yourselves. Thank you for all of your hard work and effort!
Having a lot of fun with it so far, only been playing a month but I played hundreds of hours on vermintide 2. Darktide is such a fun game, and I think its only gonna get better with time, lots of potential for future classes.
I’m having a lot of fun with the new Arbites dynamic and can not wait for the class to die down and the rejects start to interact with the Arbites class. More maps and more dialogue please!
Fatshark combat is combat that keeps me coming back. Space Marine 2 was too annoying, HD2 too detached.
This game is one of my favorites, period, no notes.
That might seem odd given how much I vociferously hate the people actually running the show, but that’s because the monetization has been awful since day one and not been improved in the slightest.
If it was, this would be a game I recommended to everyone as a way to get into 40k.
Generally, the sound, 3D visual design and moment-to-moment gameplay is amazing. Systems design is a mixed bag where I can sometimes see what they are going for but the implementation still can be improved. The missions are a lot of fun, it’s just a shame the game can sometimes fight against you hard to reach that fun.
muh whale only specifically james workshop can cash in on warhammer
but the game is pretty good and the last update is pretty alright mostly. overdue for nerfs but we can whine about that for forever and they’ll probably just buff psyker more instead.
There are good threads all over the forum, those don’t find the need to belittle or complain about people criticising the game. The best positive feedback is playing the game.
But it doesn’t seem like anyone wants to point out or suggest that belittling or complaining about the game day in and out is not constructive. More flies with honey.
But I guess I got TKOd on this. I guess everyone who likes the game should rabidly and viciously tear into it, toxify the community and player/dev relationship, and then spit on the corpse when the game dies.
Then they’ll move on to the next.
Damn. What does that even mean? I believe that the unrelenting insults and demeaning behavior towards the devs is unnecessary and gross and I’m somehow the bad guy?
They are people too. I understand you don’t see them or care about anything beyond the game being somehow in some unspecified way “perfect” for yourself, but that’s not gonna happen, and s******g on the devs isn’t going to help anything.
And coming at me for having a different perspective and just suggesting MAYBE we should try a LITTLE positivity just makes you look like a an entitled, childish jackass.
There was some positivity, but it was you who undermined it first in your own attempted thread where it was more about complaining about negative feedback, and then again here where you couldn’t just resist bringing it into a thread that was just positive feedback.
Issues are issues and complaining about people wanting them fixed or changes isn’t going to make the issue miraculously go away; combine that with the ongoing, and systematic issues that have been solved before in their own games as well as some pretty big lapses in communications has whittled down what goodwill and leeway a lot of people were willing to give.
Blind positivity doesn’t help anyone, and if the positive feedback always has a “but…” at the end of it, there’s still something there that drags down the experience.
Your thread made you look like a complete jackass you know that right?
You can’t play this victim card after taking a swipe at the community.
You’re not this herald of positivity and support of fatshark that’s gonna change everyone to the way you think, feel and act. Especially when you come off as so hostile and negative to the people you disagree with but then expect everyone you disagree with to what go oh your so amazing and right how dare we ever criticise this amazing company and are surprised to a community you’re hostile towards are hostile back.
So yeah keep coping In other threads about how the community rejected your thread that sort to do nothing but attack anyone who thinks differently from you. The community hit you back with the exact same hostility you showed them.
If you haven’t noticed this thread that didn’t flame people and got across the exact same message as yours wasn’t met with any hostility or negativity and people who have many issues with how fatshark run themselves were able to still agree with it.
You are aware these are the fatshark forums right
A lot of the people here are from the vermintide 1 and before days. And like all most of the people here have been posting here on the fatshark forums since before the game came out.
If you seriously think we’re nothing but a hate mob that has just appeared recently or are only here to trend chance you so hilariously out of touch.
I still believe that Arbites is a generally well done DLC, and that it was worth the money I spent on it. Frankly it was about time that Fatshark introduced a new class. If/when they make another, I’ll probably buy that a well.
I can’t pretend I like how obviously power crept it is, but is it worth the money? I think so, yes. So credit where it’s due.
