[Polls] Are Darktide Models Attractive?

this trend that compels people to associate with characters that looks like them is an entirely new thing that have spread by an indoctrinating toxic ideology for the last fiew years

i’m a white guy and this is my zealot, do you think he looks anything like me?

this one is a very good point, both male and female should stay more minute, food scarcity doesn’t explain fem characters broad shoulders nor wide waists though, also i think you are wrong about soldiers, i think they are treated a little bit better, surely than their citezens

despite being covered in all that gear i find this woman attractive

maybe because she’s my ethnicity, even her name looks like she is coming from my country

like the talk show dude said to the prudish mormon chick :“when i get home i’ll violently masturbate thinking of you and there’s nothing you can do about”

besides, as for darktide, them chicks wouldnt survive “ogryn attenshun” so it doesnt matter if they are fugly, thems be rashuns at best

and as for your female cannon fodder, thats where the beauty of brigandry becomes handy :smiling_face_with_horns: when you’re out for some “R&R” … just kiddin of course

No. You can go hate on official 40K artwork elsewhere. Meanwhile the rest of us can appreciate universe-defining artwork by legendary 40K artists like John Blanche and Adrian Smith:

Adrian Smith:

And if you think this is too much coomer material you should see John Blanche’s concepts for the Sisters of Silence, or official art for Sisters Repentia.

got both army painter boxes, truth be told i could have spared me some 100 paint pots prior, the dude’s a genius.

more so that even a “brush-moron” like me gets some grim dark results painting my mcfarlane figures.

something about the style that clicks with me like the design of “fist of the north star/hokuto no ken” from the 80s, totally over the top but consistent and “beliebable” in its own universe.

thats what makes great design for me

:joy: we beating this horse dead again?

Alright fwiw the newest zealot cosmetic doesn’t look anatomically accurate, but whatever.

What point are you trying to make here?

I agree that none of those women are perfect 10s and probably represent a decent sample of “average” but they also look better than all but maybe 1 or 2 of the faces we have for females.

It doesn’t bother me much. I gave all my characters, male and female, hideously disfiguring facial scars. (Even tried to match them to back grounds: frontier world - claw marks, veteran - bullet wounds, industrial worker - burn scar, etc) But your provided pictures seem to run contrary to your statement.

All loyal subjects of the Imperium know that their daily ration of Corpse Starch contains 100% of the starch required for optimal physical function, and more than 100% of the sanctified corpse necessary for spiritual fortitude. Nutritious. Sustaining. Approved by the Adeptus Administratum. Praise the Emperor.

I feel like the attractiveness polls could use a “don’t care/haven’t paid close attention” option. Nice to have the “nothing” option for the last one, but doubt you’re getting a snapshot of how many people just don’t want any resources or time spent on this “issue”, or just generally see it as a non issue.

I haven’t tried to make an “attractive” character for either sex, so honestly couldn’t rate how attractive either body type can be made :person_shrugging:

Don’t think the don’t care option works for a number average =/

Not really calling for use of resources mostly just to get a general consensus. If art team did decide to use some of the down time between cosmetics or whatever this next new patch is I wouldn’t mind either, but I’d agree not a priority feature for me either.

I do think it deters a certain entry level player from even dipping their toes into Darktide since the return period is quite short and investment required to really get hooked is high.

I dont see issue with faces them self, but rather with hair, beard options lacking.
There is like few I use or consider using, still if devs add some more casual or even todays styles it will only ad to it.

Also I noticed a thing; why humans have more face/head options than ogryn?

I’m mostly bothered with lack of hair styles and body armor flattening body type B chests entirely.

Ugly people mentality. You should visit O.Krall

Same. I cover as many fleshy bits as I can.

It’s also a first person game so really only the hands and weapon skins matter to me.

In a grim dark setting… I think it makes sense everyone is pretty battered, bruised, scarred, and burned away from anywhere close to contemporary beauty standards.

Yah I think the cosmetic artist could do with some field trips to actual women’s clothing designers.

actually, models that can’t be player-equipped, like sefoni in her tank and i think dukane too have a proper chest. i presume that having one universal model for all those fancy clothes one can buy simplifies the work on cosmetics (even when they still have clipping issues  ) so adia could charge them more for 2 separate models per character… and fatshark seems to like the path of least resistance.
