New weapons don’t create new combat scenarios in DT, it’s not that game where a weapon heavily dictates your role, everyone is playing run’n’gun anyway. No matter what you will end slaping some raw damage and rend.
Neither scum or arbites made the game to feel fresh again for me.
So new enemy faction+new enemies for scabs and dregs+refresh some older mobs.
Then new biomes, not just maps, i’m gonna puke from another grey hive corridor. Give me jungles/gardens or icy crystal caves
Nothing of this would make me play more, the game feels bad and overly repetitive right now. It needs a whole rebalance.
As people have said, the new classes didn’t make the game look fresh (they actually destroyed the game’s balance), and people ask for weapons when most of them are not even being used. The situation is beyond absurd.
To be fair, the reason a significant portion of weapons aren’t being used is because they’re uninteresting junk.
We really did not need 2 different kinds of basic one handed axe, 3 separate autogun weapons with 3 marks each, 3 marks of heavy sword or catachan blade which all do the exact same things, ect.
Time spent trying to convince people to use generic weapon number 543 is a colossal amount of time wasted with Fatshark’s development speed vs adding a recognisable 40K weapon that people would care about regardless of how good it is.
Can you elaborate on what terror_events are and how horde timers should be different than they are now?
I almost chose harder hordes too, but the game also really needs more challenging individual Elites so Director can cool it with the blobs of Carapace. For that reason, new enemies. It was a tough choice honestly.
Could care less about new bosses or game modes, we already have more than we need on those counts. This game has more weapons than it can ever hope to properly balance and more than 95% of players will ever even try, with triple digits worth of options if we’re counting different Marks.
Actual coop elements are something I want more of. I want to actually be in the same instance of the Morningstar as my party members and friends. I want there to be something for us to do there, like the bar in DRG.
I want to see more de-Gacha-ing of the equipment system. RNG for everything is still balls, looking for curios for classes is insanely frustrating, not even getting “perfect” pulls (i.e. 17% Toughness), but often getting something like 16%s or 3-Stam curios can take literal weeks of casual play for something that just shouldn’t be that much of a “grind”.
More maps would be…ok? Never gonna complain on that front but I don’t feel like there’s a particular dearth of them either. I really am only interested in new enemies if they’re really unique and not a slight variant of something existing (like the bomber). New classes…we’ve got 6, something AdMech-ey would be cool but beyond that, it’s hard to rotate through that many as is.
I get the new maps thing, but new enemies is more important to me. Map modifiers next. Simply because new maps probably take twice as long and aren’t seen nearly as often as new enemies.
2 hand chainaxe has been near the top of my weapon wishlist since they started cracking into that mountain of weapons we know might come some day from insignias.
