Poll - Havoc vs New maps and enemies

Making new modifiers is probably easier and takes less resources, but still.

What you guys would prefer more maps in different new biomes and more enemies we’ve seen on the concept arts or ̶W̶e̶a̶v̶e̶s̶ Havoc

Probably also doesn’t use all the same dev (at least for the map makers)

Enemies it does (as can be seen with the new infested enemies

I’m kinda torn.

If Havoc will be difficult great!
If Havoc will be gimmick ridden like Weaves… F- that!

I also love almost all the new maps getting released, they kinda keep getting better and better.

New maps and enemies. Literally every player can appreciate these.

Regarding Havoc mode…I’m much less interested. I’m all for greater challenges and difficulties for the people into that, but given that the overwhelming bulk of the playerbase is running Malice/Heresy, and only a tiny fraction of even the best players find Auric Maelstrom to be too easy, it feels like a lot of dev effort focused on a very tiny portion of users. More to the point, not being quickstart friendly, using random per-player modifiers (Fatshark’s RNG fetish strikes again), having to deal with Decaying ranks, etc, its appeal sounds very narrow while incentivizing lots of unfortunate behavior such as Alt-F4 quitting and raging for losing ranks. Too hard for 99% of the playerbase, not solo-friendly for half the sweatiest tryhards that can blow through Aurics in their sleep, and easily rage inducing for everyone.

Maybe not indeed, but still it’s weird for me we are gonna see weaves before some V2 enemies equivalent like casters, banner bearer, shielded human sized enemies, etc.

2 additional modes in vermintide 2:
Weaves
Chaos waste

Fatshark- “lets put the bad one in darktide”

New maps, new enemies

Havoc seems something wrong. I fear it will promote toxicity

I don’t even need new enemies, just give me maps. We’re averaging what, one map every 4-6 months? Drop a bundle of 6 maps even as a dlc and I’d be happy.

I’ll be that guy.

There have been 8 missions added since release so we average one new mission every three months. So I’ll take a new mode since I’m already getting new missions.

Warren, Mercantile, Archivum, Ascension, and Gloriana is 5. Twins and Rolling Steel I’d give half a point each because they are much shorter and have less replayability because of how scripted they are,but technically yes, they are other areas you can find enemies. Is there another I’m missing?

Comms Plex was the first mission released after launch.

Edit: Also, mission vs map. I count them all as missions but I don’t count Twins as a new map even though I’m sure the work that went into it was substantial.

Anyways, Havoc without fixing the ALT+F4 exploit is totally stupid.
And also, why they don’t balance the game.
They have ALL datas. See the thread about havoc. They have chosen maps for the difficulty.
So, they can see also what are the talents too strong, weapons too strong also. This is clearly possible and should be done.

I am really tired to not be able to pick a weapon cause I know it is terribly weak and that I will be able to play ONLY if the teammates don’t use OP weapon

I have a problem them being in one biome. While the color palette for each zone is different it’s still industrial-urbanistic hive biome. For me it feels like there are less maps than it actually are (i don’t mind some maps sharing sections)

I think the poll outcome is obvious. It’s a bit like asking what you’d rather have for christmas, a car or some cookies. Making a map and new enemies is a lot higher effort than slapping together a gamemode from existing maps and using a bunch of recycled assets, then coming up with some surrounding UI and backend to make it some weekly mission thing with ranks.
It’s low effort because of the PS5 port most likely.

Completely pointless poll as those 2 take different people to make. You’re not going to have less maps because of havoc because most of the work in maps is probably in the modeling stage.
same for enemies - 80% modeling/animation 20% coding.

The map selection with toggleable modifiers for private games will satisfy all types of players

Fatshark staying on-track with their quest to make the solo play experience as awful as humanly possible.

Cant sell skins to people who dont care about the randoms in their lobby.

imagine not buying the dlc and the whole mission board is dlc maps and you literally can’t play :person_shrugging:

Sucks to be those guys!
