I’m curious to see what everyone would like to see as new major content in Darktide.
I have set the poll so you can choose 2 options so it’s less restricive and players would want one or more as major content. I also tried to merge some toghether.
I also excluded balance since i personly find that that should not be major content but ongoing work on the game.
Also please keep it civil in the comments.
edit: i excluded havoc because i have read they are already working on some extra content for the mode.
For weapons I think we should get 20 marks per year (2023: 20 Marks; 2024 16 Marks but missing the Vet ones)
New faction(s) I don’t think should happen rn, better to complete the current ones and then make introduce new locals. Tzeentchian Nomads or Khornate Enforcer gangs would be my picks.
I believe this is not the same guys that create maps and that code the game… so this is not a choice between map or new content in my opinion.
This being said, I voted for new weapons… cause I love to discover a new weapon. However, let’s face it… actual balance is bad.
I know several argue that it is inexact. Ok, I just want them to test and take autopistol + tactical axe, then try same map same condition with let’s say a relic blade + bolter.
Same can be done on veteran with shovel (or PS) + PG…
There is a balance problem. Not a huge one tbh, but several weapons need slight nerf (please! never nerf too strong!!!) and several need a buff.
This being said, my first wish is a new archetype. This is really needed.
And I disagree about branches, it would be overcomplicated to balance everything and also it would not bring something really new.
I want a really different archetype, something that works differently than what we actually have.
I agree balance is needed but as i said it should not come at the cost of Major contend. 2 years have passed and we already got sold balance as Major content a number of times which is ok and the best choice at that time however that time has passed.
Number tweaking should not take 8 months and be ‘sold’ as Major content.
Balance wise more sub-branches would make it indeed more complicated.
That is not really Major content. ( work load wise )
I agree Balance is needed but as i said earlier it should not come at the cost of Major content. They should be able to do both as do many other developers. (in my honest opinion).
I really don’t think it’s that complicated compared to a full new archetype tbh.
It’s just that when it’s introduced people have to accept/understand that all the branches aren’t necessarily built to be able to work with all the other branches.
And I think it would be able to reach more varied lore point than doing 1 new archetype.
Like Tech Adept and/or: Astropath (Psyker); Enforcer (Zealot); Stormtrooper (Veteran) and something developed in the lore for Ogryn (they really do not have much before Darktide)
As for rework being the main part of 1 of the 4 updates, I think that make sense, but shouldn’t be coming on its own (Like how Unlocked and Loaded came about with Rolling Steel iirc)

And they should go by tiny adjustments. No need to nerf to the ground anything. Better to nerf little by little till they find a balance.
More talents, more interactions, more reasons to see something broken. Also, this requires, if you add 1 or 2 branches, to adjust everything to make them relevant and to insert them and link them to the already existing branches.
This is seriously overcomplicated.
The only way i see this work is if they made Blitz, Aura, Ability and Keystone interchangeble. (instead of stunstorm grenade you can use trowing knifes to give an example)
Now that i’m thinking about it, it would solve alot of complaints about the talent tree. However i still believe this would cost alot of dev time but if they combine it with new Blitz, Aura, Ability and Keystone it would be Major content.
