I don’t know if nVidia DLSS / AMD Fidelity FX work on consoles. If they do, it won’t be a problem.
I run the game on a nVidia 3070 TI. With DLSS enabled I can run it at 60 FPS for 4k resolution. With the occasional dip, yes. But overall good performance.
Pretty sure the new Xbox console perform at a similiar level.
Deisu already largely answered this well but I just wanted to say:
This is untrue. “enjoy” is subjective and hard to measure BUT you have to level up your characters. You don’t even have all weapon families unlocked at the beginning. That said, because some blessings can radically change your weapon that also isn’t enough. I really wanted deflector on my force sword. Blocking bullets is cool (I also didn’t know about dodge sliding at the time). I wanted to try it out on harder difficulties but needed higher tiers to have the stamina to block it. I was not enjoying it nor the weapons I was getting because I wasn’t able to try it out the way I wanted to try it.
This is also subjective. Some people may not like a weapon for any number of reasons. Attack pattern, ammo, aesthetics, anything. I wouldn’t make a blanket statement like this for all players, even if it was my experience, I know lots who don’t feel that way about lots of weapons even on malice. Like the Ogyrn shield, doesn’t feel impactful.
The opposite. You are locked out of “fun” gear by RNG for sure. If someone wants a hammer than can two shot a daemon host, or a power sword with power cycler specifically… or pinning fire, or an axe with brutal momentum… etc. Your fun is replaced with frustration at not achieving those goals.
No, people didn’t like other weapons before that with how they worked. I did. When I was playing vet I thought (Why would I ever use the revolver compared to the boltgun?). When I played ogyrn with shield I thought “I feel like I am just throwing people around and doing almost no damage, and this shield drains stamina so fast and I move so slow while blocking and trying to advance on shooters.”
What? The entire loot progression IS about incentivizing people to acquire specific blessing and perk combinations. Otherwise people would just get a random gold weapon with random perks and blessings and never swap any out, never extract for a blessing library and just use that. I don’t even understand how you have this thought. Please elucidate these strange claims.
Well top gear DOES exist, and the developers make them a possibility. If “top” gear damages the game experience than the developers need to change some things.
… I… Hope you REALLY see the irony in this statement. If you think locking things behind play time is bad… how do you feel about locking things behind both playtime AND RNG that effectively makes your playtime worth 0? I would much rather a system that guarantees me what I want after 800 hours, then a system that forces me to spend 2 hours of time to acquire enough materials to get a 0.0003% chance of what I want, and could theoretically spend thousands of hours never getting any closer to my goal. I COULD get it in 2 hours instead of 800 if I am lucky. But most aren’t.
When you have deterministic grinding you can still have systems like DRG. Where you have to pick various builds and weapon combos and mods. It’s about choosing wisely.
Glad you brought this up. Lets assume a few statements then:
1.) Daemon hosts should not be able to be “two hit” to be killed
2.) Daemon hosts can be two hit with a specific weapon build
3.) Said weapon build is rare to achieve with RNG system.
Conclusion: Either the daemon host needs to be buffed and/or the weapon combo needs to be nerfed. The issue is with the current system people CAN do this, but only a lucky few can. So if I am playing for the challenge and someone get real lucky and makes the game too easy, then this is a bad experience. The issue with “top tier” weapons being so rare is that you NEED to balance them and the enemies, due to their existence but in doing to bring top gear inline you NEGATIVELY IMPACT ALL MID-TIER builds of the same type (same weapon, blessings, perks, etc.)
This is WHY for balancing you SHOULD have top tier weapons reasonably achievable by ALL players (with enough time) so the balance of the HARDEST difficulty takes into account/assumes players will bring in top tier weapons and the enemies feel “right” with those values and since players can all get the same builds eventually with a reasonable amount of time they don’t have rare meta builds invalidating all of it, or feeling like they’re failing the difficulty simply because they weren’t lucky enough to get the gear you need, since it’s balanced around “top gear”. So that when you do the hardest difficulty it’s about what choices you want to make (horde clear, elites, monsters, defense, ammo, etc.)
TLDNR: The current crafting/RNG system is absolutely AWFUL for balancing and scaling.
A game should give a grind system where the journey should be enjoyable itself, not just the end result.
It’s like playing an RPG where you’re doing fetch quests with no side story, go here pick 5x tiger skins and give to NPC. But the reward is nice. You’re doing something you dislike for extended period in order to enjoy what you do actually like. So in this case because if you bulk buy weapons in mass, crafting the high stat ones and play the RNG. 15 mins crafting = Hours of T5 mission time. You’re spending only a minimal amount of time crafting and wish it played a bigger role in diversity factor, testing, optimisation etc.
People have already worked out the meta 2-4 weapons per class, and meta perks/blessings. There isn’t a strong reason to use other weapons which are not consistently team useful, only say out of fun factor or want to have complete collection. Which will take even longer if you want variants of the same weapon. i.e. a melee weapon with defensive blessings and same weapon again with offensive blessings.
Hence grind. It’s not difficult to get optimised weapons in terms of complexity, but it is very time consuming before you get to try new builds. It is a game with very few missions, which all look at the same, so the only way to avoid repetition is to allow a different build. Experimenting is key to gameplay loop.
It is no longer about do I have a good weapon to run T5. It’s about how fast and effective you can do it now.
So I guess the only true way to enjoy this game once you get 2-3 ideal weapons per class is to simply play the T5 missions, ignore the need and just take whatever comes along casually. Being too focused in getting what you want will lead to frustrations against the patience required. Just ignore it and it will drop on your lap when you least expect it.
If the crafting will be re-worked I would advise to cease crafting now, save dockets/materials in case that will be required. You mind find yourself spending them in vain only to realise following month crafting become more flexible and you just wasted materials.
With the reward being a random amount of xp, ranging from 5 - 500.
You may have to kill 50 tigers to have a chance at getting the 5 tiger skins, and they only appear one at a time at the end of a 30 minute run.
And sometimes the NPC isn’t there.
And sometimes they ruin one of the tiger pelts when you try to hand it in so they don’t accept it.
l4d2 has choices for both dedicated and hosted lobbies. That game was released 14 years ago too.
to be fair steam is like the biggest PC platform ever, and having free access to all these resources does help, tho i agree that gaming industry is going backwards on stockstandard features
Am I delusional for wanting the Winds of Magic crafting?
Many others have requested it.
yeah, look at d4, there will be dlc with actual diablo
yes, it and weave skins are forever locked there out of spite for us not playing weaves. remember when they accidentally made weave skins open for purchase in official realm, after saying this would happen for years? they went and pulled the skins from everyone who bought them.
If Diablo 4 had dungeon match making coop online like Diablo 3 I would of probably bought. Correct me if I’m wrong as I asked in their discord to confirm with another player.
Yea they put as world bosses and encounter other players. But I loved doing dungeon runs with randoms in coop.
Fastest bug fix ever, i recall
That part went completely by me. The f?! On the other hand, that is so Fatshark…
Well, while l4d2 had dedicated servers, they were limited, and when the game was new the dedicated lobbies were nearly always filled, so I often had to resort to hosted games. Still, having the option of either is the important thing here. I’m not sure what the issues are to implement hosted play other than some bonus dev time (of which we’ve already spanned half a year).
And welcome to the club.
The club of what we want, but alas they never listen to ![]()
