Plz Just Make "Macros" a Built-In Feature Already

The difference is how the MK4 ogryn cleaver actually has an interesting moveset that will intuitively allow you to combo into what you want with just a little bit of experience and have varied combos for different situations

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the ironhelm thunderhammer that basically just throws out exactly the one attack you don’t want and the optimal hordeclear combo involves block cancelling a weapon activation (iirc, havent used that piece of sheit in ages)

I don’t think the solution to this is macros though. I think the solution is not designing a weapon as needlessly convoluted and unfun as the ironhelm thunderhammer

You HAVE to be trolling, not only did I address them ,12 others did too; lay off the hooch.

There’s fan-fic alright, it’s on your end.

So I think this would be actually detrimental to new players experience. This game benefits a lot from the feeling it gives you in melee combat.

The windup, the hit, the impact. Stagger values, blood decals, damaged textures it all serves to show how gritty melee combat is. Automating this will remove the carefully prepared combat experience.

I also understand that at the end game we turn into living lawnmowers and want to blender every enemy health pool ASAP, but introducing automated processes will remove a big part of the games vibe, this further reinforces me to believe it’s okay to keep it as modded/personal setup.

I would hope Fatshark stops designing gameplay / weapons in a way which is frankly bad for people’s health. Especially that approach is often easily abusable by macros and user input tricks (QQ swapping etc etc). This would address the issue instead of building on the top of it, but then that’s just me.

Macros can be detrimental

Say you activate macro for a moveset i.e. block, push attack, heavy, etc 2 further ones like heavy/light, so say 5 inputs total with delays in between to allow game engine to detect and process properly.

Depending on situation you may want to stop at any point in that sequence. An example is when there is incoming danger elsewhere unexpected and you want to exit away, but instead before you can do so it has locked you into next mouse button interrupting it in input priority.

  • Go into training ground, spam M1 i.e. a fast attack rate weapon. Now press F, 50/50 it will activate as result of input queue priority.

  • Try this in training ground. Press M1 and F at exactly same time. The ability doesn’t happen.

  • Press F straight after one M1 click it will process.

Macros won’t necessarily let your own input take priority on simultaneous. i.e. you suddenly half way want to use ability, hold block, switch weapon etc if situation has changed suddenly to warrant cease of moveset and do other actions.

Even if you had function on mouse to cancel a sequence, it now adds a delay of additional press before your original intention that others won’t have to think about without macro.

Use heavy attacks in the mix with lights, any weapons that is heavily spammed will hurt your fingers.
Also, idk about the boxes, nades or any items, these are quite small in the amount.

In case ppl care there is a mod for this called: Keep Swinging, but Fatshark DOES need to add these features to make it less painful for long sessions.

I got index finger pain, though from VT 2, because dt got mods. Speaking of which.

I tried Skitarius and honestly weapon combos are time and situation specific, can’t spam most of them on auto, because there’s timings that sometimes demand holding heavy for a bit longer in order to reach enemy. Even super simple combo like ogry shield h1 spam is better done manually, because it gives better control of timing.

Only real useful option is ability to have light attack spam, because it works on some weapons for horde clear or makes it easier to shoot infantry lasguns, pistols and rarely sniper auto guns. Worthless for everything else, because weapon either got full auto already or it id something like helbore that not working good with it even with full charge release, maybe with exception of bosses, sometimes.

Heavy auto attack worthless 99% of the time. Need to hold it each time manually due to distance/position of you and enemy or for movement.
