Please Stop Nerfing Players

Honestly very few are genuinely bad. The out of line great at everything weapons/builds just paint a false picture.

I genuinely dare you to go through the last year of patch notes and count buffs vs nerfs. The ratio is like 9:1 in favour of buffs at least.

So if you say we’re not getting enough buffs you are, in effect, saying you don’t think there should be any nerfs, because there already barely are any.

I don’t know how you have come to such a warped viewpoint.

and when there are some, are not even impactful

I’m all for making enemies more engaging, I think we can honestly do both at the same time.

The problems with darktide’s combat is that enemies are way too slow in their attacks and players have way too much ease in their response towards them. This makes actually quite large hordes that constantly surround you feel like just about 4 or so enemies in a room. An easy way to fix this is just reduce the dodge linger window for enemy attacks to the amount when a dodge is interrupted, and speed up and/or add new enemy animations in order to create a new combat pace.

This, however, will never be done, as the devs simply do not care about the combat nor the balance, just making new content for the game. You will eat slop and enjoy it.

i was doing earlier a true duo h40 (bots removed with mod)
no rush, no golden toughness, no stealth, no ds no crutch really

40 mins just to reach mid event, it was fun
we were doing relic blade and evis xv, and autopistols

we were winning until a mission abort error came and disconnected us

game fun when it is balanced and theres no need to use the most op things / overtuned things

vt2 makes it much better cause enemies get faster when you try kiting and the distance gap is very short

and speaking of making enemies more engaging, dt nerfed them
hox pounds were nerfed, they have been given some lag leniency with pushes window which tbh is okay, but i think sometimes it is too way giant this window, assassins from vt2 were so deadly and you had to time so well the push

mutants were nerfed too, line trajectory and knockback removed when you are nearby to them when they climb up or down to something, and other things i forgot

flamer too nerfed, insta toughness removed
scab gunners nerfed too, they were used to be super deadly staggering to death players, which was so funny but it made them a threat

and what most i want, trappers being able to trap players and drag them away from horde and teammates, same packmaster behavior (from vt2)

the only enemy i want nerfed most is tox bomber which is more fair to adjust, but everything else should get some innovation just like when they added the ability to explode canisters tank of flamers to spice up mechanics and difficulty

Whoever flagged this post, the hell why? Don’t remember what it said exactly but I’m confident it wasn’t flag worthy.

I want every little wuss flag abuser off this damn website. You don’t deserve online interaction if your tolerance for disagreement is this low.

@FatsharkJulia could you please unhide their comment and maybe raise better moderation as a possibility. I feel like it should clearly take more flags to hide a post than it currently does.

There should also be way worse punishment for misusing flags.

if they edit the message it gets automatically unhidden

agreed

I went and brought my Ogryn build to Auric, where I don’t go often these days due to just…not enjoying it. But I wanted the achievements and happened to have that No Man’s Land Mission on the board so…yeah.

I was reminded why I stopped caring very quickly.

Nerf players. Harder than ever.

This is really noticeable when I use Devil’s Claw. I’ll be trying to parry and waiting for them to hit me, and they just stand there for what feels like a long time in context. I don’t know if it’s the stagger duration being too long or what, but most enemies should probably have less delay between their attacks. Maybe it should scale with difficulty so newbies don’t get overwhelmed.

You do understand that it’s completely interchangeable approaches, right? By what I mean it’s exactly the same, just differently phrased. Or you need to just do more steps, but you’ll arrive at exactly the same result in the end, so “buff everything” is simply less efficient and more problematic.

It shouldn’t hide them at all only notify a moderator.

They nerfed the hell out of enemies mechanically in interactions versus players and then, after buffing the hell out of player damage, realized they needed much more enemy spam with higher health enemies to compensate for all of the changes. I rather have much more difficult aoe specials that deal much less friendly fire damage than they actually deal player damage, for instance. Instead, like 3 seconds of flamer/bomber fire will kill a horde but do nothing to a player, or a poxburster will kill an entire horde but if you have yellow toughness you just get an inconvenient launch into the air.

Meanwhile in vt2 dutch flamethrower rats lower your attackspeed and completely blind your screen and mute your audio while dealing dot damage on top of direct damage, as well as knockback. Or a single lifeleech enters your neighborhood and disappears every 3 seconds.

It’s not like you buffed trapper and friends to be as active and dangerous as vt2 specials would fix things, either. Largely due to the huge amount of ammo stockpile every player has, the most it would change is just how players stay grouped together. Maybe smarter players would just realize that having one person not armed with a boltgun or whatever meta choice and instead brings an autogun that kills them in like 3 shots and have infinite ammo in most team comps is pretty good.

I think personally new players won’t feel a difference until they’re in higher difficulties. Stagger breakpoints outside of havoc are so that you could take almost any weapon and above like 50% stamina push a mauler out of their overhead swing. Sometimes you do that just with heavy attacks or light spam.

Knowing fatshark the only enemies that would get this stupid buff would be ragers, enemies that already have stupidly jank hitboxes compared to how generous every other enemy tends to be.

In terms of why enemies sometimes will kinda just stand there instead of swing, there’s some fixes around it that kinda imply to me the problem being that they have problem queuing actions on players that just stand still, or, alternatively, there is a scripted amount of downtime when an enemy is active where they can actually queue their actions (since enemy attacks often have cooldown timers associated with them). I’m not 100% certain on anything, just my guess. It’s most likely an engine issue, vt2 has this exact problem as well.

If you move backwards, enemies tend to be much faster to respond to you, and moving attacks are typically faster than standing attacks for parry farming anyway.

It’s like when the Fellowship was trying to climb Redhorn and Gimli suggested taking the Mines of Moria. Both routes got them to their destination, but going through the mountian (nerfing players) was (or should have been…) less work than climbing a literal freaking mountain (no nerfs, only buffs)

Agreed. Hiding the Posts before a Moderator can even get to investigating them is a tad unnecessary in my opinion. On the few instances where I’ve flagged posts, it’s been to get Moderator attention, not to silence somebody. I don’t know, maybe there’s a reason for the Posts being automatically hidden that you and I aren’t considering, but still…

I think it comes from an overall reasonable place of “If something is flagged for blatant bigotry (pick an ‘ism or ‘phobia), we don’t want to keep giving it airtime until a mod gets around to reviewing it”, but, as with many things in Darktide, the way the devs designed a thing to be used is not the way the community uses it.

Its time to take off the blinders, players, some weapons and talents are busted and actuall balancing is needed; both nerfing and buffing along with overhauling other things.

As a example use how my last 6 sessions look, it was win pretty much every time not Damnation, not Auric but Maelstorm it was brezze basicly no chalange.

Are you and others still gona throw tantrum over nerfs or finally realize there is balancing issiue?

cause for some very warped reason those players expect every attempt a win or else it’s a wasted effort.

saw this bullcrap with the havoc takes some had, so weekend-warriors get their entitled safari tour through the “endgame”

quite some “hunters” they are indeed :man_facepalming:

It is. The most common way to still lose is having a bunch of free range chicken where everyone does their own thing and they get picked off one by one.
