Please nerf voidstrike

I really like the voidstrike. It’s a fun weapon with a high skill cap. It’s way to strong right now. Bring down the damage slightly and reduce the stagger a bit. If there’s 2 or 3 voidstrikes in a lobby everything just gets deleted on t5 auric. I want to keep using voidstrike but it’s getting kind of boring.

Voidstrike is fun, but pretty useles in most of the cases.
It is like plasmagun, but with free ammo and less powerfull.

Yeah, with a good teammates it can feel very strong, but so as enything else.

He doesn’t know…
I assume you don’t have a crit psyker build and you don’t have Surge on your Voidstrike Staff.

I haven’t even tried the crit build. Just warp flurry is enough to take down crushers/bulwarks faster than any of my teammates and clear hordes while sniping specials through them.

I would leave the damage the same but highly increase the casting cost

This truly is the sneeze on crushers and they die patch. Very cool thank you FS (I am really not happy about this in case you couldn’t detect the sarcasm).

When you can vent enough peril to cast again without exploding in probably less than a second that’s not really any kind of solution. And a charge time decrease would just make it feel more cumbersome. Nah until I hear a better solution offered its damage or at least multipliers against certain armour types needs to be nerfed.

Psyker is my main class, and Voidstrike has been my main staff since the beta days. It’s been weird loading into lobbies recently and seeing other people using it - I used to feel like I was the only one. I don’t follow the meta builds, but I guess there must be one where it’s really strong if so many people are running it now. I agree that it’s totally overkill if you get 3 Voidstikes in a team, similar to how the old squad full of Veterans felt to play with. I don’t want some knee-jerk reaction nerf that completely kills the Voidstrike as a viable weapon though. Maybe tweak the damage back down a bit?

After Psyker feeling a bit unloved for so long I don’t want them to get nerfed into oblivion the moment they get some cool stuff, but there are some things that could certainly be toned down a little. I feel like Assail is a far greater offender than Voidstrike. It’s a cool idea to have as a burst, but the regen rate on the knives is far, far too quick. This changes it from a useful burst to pull out to deal with a group of specials/elites to a homing main weapon with infinite ammo that can be spam cast to kill pretty much everything.

Tbh it’s more or atleast partialy about enemies hp/armor/stagger res. Almost anything right now kills enemies in 1-3 attacks/shots.

Sorry, I meant charge speed decrease. I thought it was fairly obvious I was not suggesting buffing void.

I’m okay with voids working so well with crits and the like. What I find completely baffling is why they felt it necessary to dumb down void (and surge) staves so much by making them deal near equal damage to everything.

Power sword should be the thing that deals the same damage to everything when powered (not more damage or stagger) based on lore, but it just got nerfed again.

They nerfed it in the dumbest way possible too. They dropped the heavy charged damage to be the same as the light charge damage. So other than situations where you need to cleave a lot there’s no reason not to just use light attacks on everything…

There seems to be a general theme of homogenization where different attacks or attacks against different targets no longer deal different amounts of damage because… why? Because the player is stupid? Because people complained? I have no idea, but power sword/void/surge staff seem to embrace the idea.

Some weapons are designed to chop through all armour types, but they usually have some kind of trade off. Like plasma has enough rending to practically ignore the damage reduction of flak and carapace, but the damage numbers are relatively low (especially compared to voidstrike), the ammo economy is one of the worst in the game on top of heat management and plasma guns do not get any benefit from the a lot of the biggest damage nodes in vet’s tree because they are rending related. And almost all the plasma gun blessings are counterintuitive or doesn’t work.

No need for any nerfs wathsoever. No need to take away others’ fun. If something is too easy for you, do not use it since you have already mastered it. Maybe instead of making weapons and abilities useless, how about asking for harder modes?

Yeah this weapon was already pretty decent, and the damage buff is just too crazy. I hate when I’m about to throw a knife at a dreg rager and an orb tears through him and 30 horde. I suppose with the silly goofy shards around its at least a projectile that is interacted with in some way by the player, but its still equally not as fun to be around.

Voidstrike/assail psyker is the new bolter vet.

Really I thought voidstrike was already in a fairly good place before the patch. But the damage increase has just made it ridiculous. It didn’t need to be any better than it already was.

Voidstrike + Assail Psyker is nothing like the old Bolter Vet. It actually deletes everything, requires no ammo, and has no downtime.

What I’ve seen of rumbler Ogryns also falls into this category, and even they can’t keep up with Voidstrike+Assail psykers.

We have twice as many enemies at least and twice as broken stuff as before.
