Please deactivate the social wheel when typing. If you bound it to a keyboard key, it pops up everytime you hit that letter

Hi Fatshark,

I rebound my social wheel to the “T” key, since that’s what I’m used to from VT2. It lets me be a lot more quick and precise than my side mouse button. I reserve my two side mouse buttons for weapon special and tag anyways. I think this is just a better use of the mouse buttons in general for default, but that’s a matter of opinion.

So what’s the issue? Every time I type the letter t in chat… the social wheel pops up. Half the time, this also causes some random socia wheel selection “LOOK OVER HERE” “ENEMIES OVER HERE” “I NEED AMMO” to pop up in the chat.

I’m surprised this annoyance never came up during internal testing, surely I can’t be the only one who got comfortable with “T” for social wheel and rebound it to that in Darktide?

Go to options → input
Just set the tagging wheel delay time to 0.1sec and there you go.
You can type without the wheel popping up, and when you want the wheel to show, it is a short enough delay to not really matter.

That’s a really smart fix, thank you. I just dragged the social wheel delay all the way down. I guess it doesn’t go lower than 0.1 in VT2 but can go to 0.0 in Darktide.
