Please allow host kicking like HD2

Some of us don’t have 3 gamer friends, let alone 3 who play DT. Also my irl is a whirlwind of crazy inconsistent freelance hours and being a parent so my online times are totally random. Makes for planning gaming impossible. I’m at the mercy of games available at the time I can join.

No harm in having tailored lobbies as far as I can see?

waste of my karkin time, d’rather kick the idiots and make trolls think twice instead of letting them reign free.

Kicking player is a harm though? in psychological sense anyway.

Exactly my thoughts, thank you.

who tf has friends? /s

Most people that has this complain on HD2 are trolls wanting to troll like in DT. People answered plenty of times to the “I get kicked all the time” issue with host your own lobby.

The OPs never answer to that without devolving the thread into toxic gaslightining specially steam forum land of chernobyl waste.

I disagree. Helldivers 2 kicking system sucks. People already complain about it. Voting is better. For democracy!

Vote kick sucks and doesn’t really work. Unless you are a troll with a buddy then it works great.

The issue is the other way. You have host trolls on Helldivers 2 that invalidate a ~40 minute run and play god. If someone doesn’t fall in line Herr Host will send you back to space.

At least with voting you need TWO trolls to be coordinated. Much harder to accomplish than just one errant aberration.

If everyone host their own lobby in fear of being kick then no one will join your game.

That’s not how it actually works out in those games though. in VT2, DRG, etc there’s always less lobbies than people willing to join them. “Host your own lobby” is perfectly good advice, there’s too few people doing that to begin with.

Doesn’t have to be one or the other though. Both styles of lobby can live side by side.

Current style could just have private hosted lobbies as an option

Yes, it’ll probably be fine if we have separate matchmaking for non-host and host lobby but I doubt people are willing to join a host lobby unless they get to be the host themself.

But if you find a good host and player then it’s nice to look for their lobby and have a similar experience each time

I’ve played with players whom I wish I could find again but never do. Dt2 is quite a lonely game considering its team based

Your comment just made me realize something hyper ironic.

Helldivers 2, a game about spreading Human (Stratocratic) Super Democracy, has a tyrannical voting system, where 1 person gets to decide the fate of the playergroup.

Darktide, a game about spreading a semi-monarchist tyrannical Theocracy, where the God Emperor’s truth is the only real truth, has a fair democratic voting system with evenly split voting rights between all players.

Since there is no definite lobby leader, and everything relies on prayers to the God Emperor and barely surviving servers, adding a specific lobby function that would depend on the host - in terms of FPS, in my opinion, is suicide, because then there will be fewer players to kick, there will be a more or less reasonable ping in closer regions… and there will be fewer reasons for hotfixes with technical error fixes and adding cosmetics.

Yeah that was the joke I wanted to make :stuck_out_tongue:
Hopefully we win the war in both fronts.

Protect democracy in Atoma, and bring managed democracy to super earth squads.

Cast a vote for democracy!!

You can doubt it all you want, DRG and VT2 literally work like that and people love joining lobbies.

The Ministry of Truth would like to warn citizens that there are traitors murdering their squad mates and stealing samples for themselves, jeopardizing our peace keeping missions.

We will be looking to fight this threat in true super earth fashion… With democracy! Squad mates can now vote on suspected traitors to remove them from operations to protect our brave forces.

Support our troops with warbonds. Vote. With your wallets.

-A future helldivers 2 update.
