Players should be able to phase through enemies when stuck in them

Title is a bit misleading but I don’t know how to make it concise. Basically, I have an issue a lot of the time, especially with Ogryn, where I’ll stop a charge or get barrel flung into a whole pack of enemies, but because I’m colliding with some of them, I can’t move at all, and get mauled to death.

Enemies blocking player movement is obviously a very important part of the game, it would be stupid to just be able to walk free out of getting cornered by virtue of being a Zealot. However, getting stuck in them is just frustrating, and I’d like to be able to get back to full movement ASAP, even if I happen to end up in a suboptimal position.

Whenever a player is inside an enemy’s hitbox enough for them to get stuck, it should trigger an unstuck failsafe that lets them phase through enemies until they aren’t colliding with enemies anymore.

This is why I keep a bull rush in my backpocket at all times lol.

It’s annoying as hell for a giant ogryn to get stopped in his tracks by some puny groaners.

I honestly think a talent that functions like Slayer Bardin’s Barge talent in VG2 would fit perfectly for Ogryn. He’s a big fella, he can throw his weight around! Replace Crunch! and we gucci.

Use Point-Blank Barrage to buff your ranged weapon:

Use Indomitable to become a ranged weapon:

This is another great reason I hate playing Ogryn

YES this will be awesome!

Also, the title is very misleading(pretty much read as - let me walk through enemies like a ghost), like you said. But this suggestion is very cool!

the more annoying part is that even if i keep my attack pattern mobility, most punies are curled up in fetus position so even push/shove doesnt do any good.

all the while they should be the ones pancake’d under an ogryn ass

why not apply the same damage stack of bullrush vertically when dropping on smaller enemies and “dot” them to death.

death by giant butt cheeks

It wouldn’t be so bad if enemies couldn’t move through each other, stack up, and shoot through each other. The number of times I have lost games after being stuck in a horde with gunners shooting us through them, or a mob of ragers huddled up inside a bulwark.

Getting waterfalled by enemies dropping from above too.

now if i “fast forward” the brainstorming about how to fix this particular issue, would the game be better or worse if absolute collision was applied.

aka bounce your weapon off walls/solid objects but not have enemies go “matryoshka” and hordes not wash up in one horinzal line of the encounter is reach (back stack all the way through the room and wait their turn to physically reach the player)

could the engine even support stuff like this without roasting cpu´s ?

i´m guilty of whacking enemies through spawn walls myself, because its the natural thing to not let them flow through the door if i can avoid that.

still i wouldn´t complain if the option was taken away for a more “realistic” (as far as warhammer universe goes anyways) physics.

the game would improve a lot without this “enemies phasing into existence”. they run through you as long as they’re aggroed onto someone else, then they switch target and oops you’re stuck in them. and you have funny things like a mauler hitting you from inside the crusher you’re fighting, a half dead groaner blocking an ogryn by just being on the floor, and these monster fountains / waterfalls suddenly becoming a physical barrier.

Yea the 6 or 7 stacked shotgunners is always frustrating if you are in their goldilocks zone.

There was a corner in the Ascension Riser that I called the shotgun corner where most of the time there was a shotgun patrol around there and they would blast the first person of the team to reach there off the edge. Can’t happen anymore, they added railings to that corner. I guess OHSA managed to push that report through the Administratum.
