Plasma gun needs to be readjusted

Now, try to do that when you have tons of enemies over you.

Great idea.

I agree about this. Secondary fire should be devastating. Especially when you see the heat generated to fire once.

I don’t like it either. Only Weapon i even quit grinding the Mastery up and just did it via sacrificing Stuff into it. I don’t find it fun to use nor good.

Don’t see how it is a ‘near-must’ at high-level Play. I never even once saw someone using it in any high Havoc i played; barely ever see anyone using it in Auric MS / Damn either. I myself haven’t played with the Veteran in high Havocs yet but i find other Options way more fun and useful like OP already said

It overheats too fast, for the damage it does. @Tarquelne opinion is nice.

Sorry do what exactly? I’ve used all of these weapons in Auric Maelstrom before (I love my lasgun so much I even got a premium cosmetic for it). Or do you mean plasma? And to specify do you mean keeping it out and taking out specials/elites with a horde around you?

If so I’ll record some gameplay when I get off of work including another test on all the specials.

This is the first time I’ve been accused of gaslighting having only posted once without comment, allowing people to make up their own mind on it.

If Khorne_Dawg wasn’t correct on you being insincere then you may want to try learning some social skills homie.

TIL that empirical evidence recorded in 1080p is gaslighting.

Plasma, plasma.

Maybe I need to learn to use it better, but when they are a lot… I just can’t.

Testing on specials since it was requested. Pretty brutal.

Dusting off my old plasma to see how often I can keep it active in hi-intensity stuff. This thing really rips through ammo!

I don’t have much experience editing or anything so this is just raw video. Also it sounds like plasma may be nerfed regardless so not sure how relevant this will be soon lol.

It is definitely powerful, I can see why it is used in Havoc levels of density so often.

Thank you for uploading those videos.

When you are in mission, I see that you cool down the weaponn before it overheats, very often actually.

I think that it overheats too much for the few kills you do with it.

I want your opinion about it.

First of all - your lasgun is a mess(It doesn’t need much, but you still don’t have it). But even with it you hit same breakpoints as plasma. Btw fun fact that you hever hitted a head on mutant. Didn’t thought or manipulated with data? Considering you were shooting heads before. Also you took the mk12, which is a good lasgun. But default one if even better, making plasma pale even more.

->Shows gameplay with plasma
->Proceeeds to struggle with oneshots the entire game
->Still tries to intist that PlAsMa iS Op AnD OnEsHoTs EvErYtHiNg!!!

Here’s me testing plasma gun vs lasgun, hitting exactly same breakpoints(Tho i was really unlucky with tox flamer). And i even weakened lasgun by not using exe stance and removing marksman’s focus nodes, the remainings nodes were beneficial for both weapons.

Also keep in mind that if i removed the remaining damage nodes(Like killzone, superiority complex precision strikes), and ran, for example, weapon spec build, i would have to make 1 more shot with plasma to do a kill, which is unforgivable since plasma can do only 8-11 shots before overheating + has lesser firerate + block your vision with plasma cloud + has long reload(Unable to sustain exe stance), and failed to oneshot target even with fully charged headshot hit. And if i removed, flak perk - it wouldn’t be able to oneshot scab gunner.

and to all this cons add the fact that lasgun has much faster firerate than the one i was showing, since i was firing slowly to slow where exactly i landed my hits.

I don’t think I’m good enough with plasma at the moment to really give you a super informed opinion. It was overheating a lot because I was more-or-less trying to keep it out and active as much as I could and using it on the trash, but if I were to use it only to kill carapace/elites/specials I think it would probably be more reliable than anything other than bolter (which I use more often anyways).

Lasgun is the GOAT when it comes to special duty for me (regardless of what Negative Nancy says, my build is tailored for my lasgun to be able to one-hit head-shot specials and gunners (or two-shot mutants in the head) but I can understand why they’re nerfing plasma’s light attacks since it is bordering on fire-and-forget which you can’t do as effectively with lasgun or bolter. Something I didn’t even bother using was the charged shots but if those get buffed it will definitely remain king of anti-carapace stacks according to the balance notes, as well as blowing away specials hiding behind large groups (kind of hope they don’t nerf its cleave TBH, otherwise bolter will just be the new meta).

This is exactly the point. They need to nerft cleave and buff damage. That’s it.

Yes, I see it more clear now.
