Patch Notes 1.0.25

Because nerrfing psykers got them bored and hey want to try something new.
On plus side for Ogryns - Kickback is now a decent thing to use

No it isn’t wrong. Every class has different damage taken modifiers when mid-sprint, mid-dodge, and mid-slide. It’s to cement different play styles (between zealot and vet in particular). In fact, Zealot gets invincibility frames when mid slide!

I’m too lazy to link it right now but this has been data-mined and tested to verify.

I honestly think it’s a smart system. But I really wish this was more common knowledge among players since I think it’s a big reason why noobs complain about taking too much damage from regular shooters. Vet is encouraged to stand still or dodge to avoid ranged damage while zealots are encouraged to sprint and slide.

It’s really on Fatshark that this isn’t explicitly stated in the game.

EDIT: here let me just link it. Seems like these modifiers only apply to toughness damage, which makes perfect sense. Vet has 200 toughness base and Zealot only has 100, so it’s sensible for Vet to have to “earn” that full benefit by having the self control to not sprint while Zealot needs all the passive toughness reduction it can get.

scab shooters were much harder to dodge their shots than scab/dreg stalker. Their shots being slower mean they’ll most likely land 1-2 hits on you in their 3-shot salvo, compared to stalkers, which you can dodge their salvo in one well-placed dodge.

I personally dont have much of a problem with them but I think they’ll still be a relatively decent enemy.

You’re not forced to sprint to slide, you can dodge to slide.

I’m ready to be disappointed again

main problem for ogryn is that there isn’t a reason to bring one and fatshark nerf some skills.

A classic.

They are good for carrying ammunition & samples, but they rarely do because they are busy hiding behind a shield!

Just installed latest update and going into settings to change sensitivity caused a CTD.
After restarting the game any time I try to go into settings CTD. What is going on?

That’s the lore… They have to buff veteran and give them all effective weapons.

Next patch they buff plasma gun to make it one shot everything… that’s in the lore

It’s all well and good, but the fact that it is a hidden modifier that the game doesn’t explain anywhere is a huge problem. It is intuitive to try to sprint to cover when you get shot, or when you want to reposition. The game even teaches you to do so in the tutorial (to avoid surpression).

Balance-wise it’s ok, even if a bit unwarranted.

Edit: You can even “Dodge” bullets by sprinting left or right from the enemy so it’s even more counter-intuitive.

I think it depends on the country my dude. EA had localization region lock(not sure if they still do, haven’t played their games for years) - the excuse at the time was that Eastern europe prices were comparatively lower, so people VPN’d and bought them at a lower price. I’m from Poland and I was pissed off when I had to torrent and exchange game files from the pirated version of Battlefield 2 only to be able to play in English(paid full price), cause the options I was given were Polish and Russian, because apparently all Polish people speak russian and can write and read Cyrillic script, and hearing direct translations of idioms in your own language isn’t cringe at all.

Always had VT and now DT in English though, so like I said, might be cause you’re in one of the “naughty no-no” countries.

Didn’t realize Steam started doing region locking, unless you’re on gamepass - have no idea what policies they have.

Gamepass locks the language to the one you use in windows.
On steam you can choose.
I run the game in english and I am french

I wouldn’t necessarily call it unintuitive that you can out sprint shooters when sprinting diagonally despite taking more toughness damage while sprinting as Vet. It’s simply a risk-reward decision for Vets that you make as you gain more game knowledge / familiarity.

However, I for sure agree it’s egregious that Fatshark doesn’t state these modifiers anywhere in-game. So many people would complain less about regular shooters once they knew how their class is designed to avoid them (as vet… take camo expert and stand still. As zealot, run and slide around like a mad man, pointy end towards the shooter).

It’ll be interesting to see how that works out after the nerf, I hope to try it out this weekend!

Lore commands this.

They cannot adjust weapons to make them all usefull and fun to play. There are to be garbage weapons and few good weapons. This is WH40K.

(that’s not really what I think… but several explain that like that… this is LORE. Enjoy)

The Zealot I-Frames to toughness damage while sliding has always been in the game, so the nerf to the toughness dmg reduction on melee crit talent is still just a straight up nerf.

I meant that it’s unintuitive that on one hand sprinting is a defense (even in the tutorial) against shooting enemies while actually, it doubles the damage you take if not used as the designers intended. It’s even worse that it only applies to veteran game sense wise.

Otherwise, I agree. Risk reward is pretty good, and Veteran kept forcefully in the advance slowly and tactically, stand your ground playstyle isn’t something I see as bad either. If you want to run/charge everywhere just play a zealot.

As much as people seem to hate that vet can just agro-dump enemies on you camo expert is seriously OP if played properly. It allows vet to snipe specials or clear elites with grenades in the thickest of enemy hordes with absolute reliability (or just finish the interrogation event in 1 minute instead of 5).

wtf fatshark, zealot need 100% bonus to toughness on kill to even come close to being viable against constantly-refreshing 50% reduction.

Also no buff to maniac damage on headhunter autogun/revolver.

Might not be super noticable since the scabs got nerfed as well, I’ll have to try before going on a rampage! Desert maps with lots of dregs will be harder for sure!

Wait why are they nerfing zealot surely they should be bring classes upto veteran not doing stupid nerfs for things that are not a problem
