Patch 15: Spring Cleaning

An update focused on QOL changes, primarily on the mourningstar and with the UX.

Mourningstar Changes:
-A few more NPCs can be seen milling about the ship
-Shortcut keys (and menu buttons for controller) for Melk, Brunt, Hadron and the Mission Terminal.
-Terminal has an option to auto-default to Auric Missions.
-Hallowette’s shop has eveything previous available, alongside a search bar (if you’ve played VT2, think lohner’s shop)

Mod Integrations:
I think it’s for the best if a select few mods get integrated into base game. Here’s what i’d choose and why:

-BetterMelk + Contracts Overlay: Much easier to keep track of Melk’s tasks, shows how many done per operative in the selection screen AND autoclaims them. Absolutely beautiful QOL.

-Numeric UI + Chat Block. How this isnt base game already confuses me given that VT2 has had both for a while.

-For the Drip. The big one, the mac daddy, one of the best mods i’ve seen for this game alongside weapon customization. I’ve already been on and on about this one in a prior post, so go read “For the Drip, and what it could be” if you wanna see how i’d add it.

That’d about sum the patch up, but let me know what other mods would be nice in base game or any other changes that you’d add!

That’s not gonna happen, like you know it will never happen simply cause it would mean revamping the whole cosmetic store system, which they hardly can do since people already bought stuff

I feel like making FTD official can be done.

-Repeated/reused items are heavily discounted if you own one copy of them (Steel Legion and Froka on vet & ogryn for example)
-Option to just buy the colours & pattern a set has

as for other bits like removing parts of an outfit (namely Gloves), why not make Gloves their own slot? could add a little more customization to your reject and draw out a few new combos not otherwise possible (Penance gear with full leather gloves or a vest oggy with Froka’s “kill, kill, kill” gloves on)

I suggested that Fatshark should add the FTD mod directly into the official game by just adding all of the available patterns/camos to each cosmetic via a separate box in the Cosmetic menu, where you can just swap out the different patterns/camos at any time. Doing this would make reskins no longer viable to sell for Fatshark, but that doesn’t matter because they’ll just make more money via the original skins and that won’t be an issue anymore if they make every set unique.

My suggestion’s a healthy, pro-consumer approach to premium cosmetics - but because the product gives the consumers more “bang for their buck”, the consumers will see it as a better deal and buy more of these products on average and that equals healthy and immense profit. It’s simple Economics.

It all seems like wishful thinking at the moment, though.

That would be ACTUALLY good if Fatshark isn’t willing to increase their cosmetic prices AGAIN because of it.

We all know they’re willing and ready to do that if this idea gets out to them.

Some Veteran cosmetics in particular have really odd glove choices and they’d probably benefit from this change - the boots even more so, don’t get me started on those goofy ahh metal boots because you won’t hear the end of it.

Man, in the trailer you could see a pub or at least a relaxation area. I thought that was our Red Moon Inn and I could already imagine myself punching a chandelier or a servo-skull.
Damn.
